Sounds like her control,or her side of the blanket has a short in it. This type of control has a thermal overload in it,that heats up,cuts off, then resets when it's either unplugged,or cools down.
If possible, try unplugging just her side of the blanket at the foot of the bed,if it doesn't have a integrated plug. If the control works OK then, her side of the blanket has a short in it.
If so,get a new blanket, before she disowns you,as they are almost unrepairable.

I had that problem and called the manufacturer. They said to unplug that side, disconnect power, plug the blanket back in and restore power. It worked.
My guess is that it was a bad connection. You might be sure the connector fits tightly

apparently that no exact study has been performed on the difficulty. On looking the internet, that is considered that one human being had felt heart palpitations even as utilising electric powered blanket. Your case should be taken up through the buyer businesses,

The blanket needs to be replaced. Never mess with electric blankets. Why not resort to body heat??

The bed would be a VERY bad place for a fire to start, especially if your in it. Buy a new one, throw the other in the rubish.

I say throw it away before you both wake up fried. It's way cheaper than a funeral.
