it now looks like black streaks inside the dryer hub. they are everywhere! The black is from the lint catching on the gum. What is the easiest way to remove this gum???

i like Goo Gone too, but it too is an oil. what ever method you use, wash the drum out after with a damp sponge and soap. i was once told that you can get gum out by covering it with peanut butter, the oils in it will soften the gum and when you rub it lift the gum off. i didn't try it, i wouldn't want to smell like that!! good luck.

Throw the person who left the gum in the pocket in there.

Seriously now....alcohol or nail polish remover should do the trick. May be able to use knife to scrape off when cold too. Freeze with ice cube held to the spot for a few seconds and scrape.
I would kill if I had to clean this. LOL

I had this same thing happen to me. What I did was while the dryer was hot scraped it out. That made it much easier because the gum was soft and came off alot easier... good luck

By the way- Never put mineral oil or any type of oil in your dryer! It can cause a fire! Try Goo gone. I think it will be safer. Follow the instructions on the bottle. :)

wd40 sprayed on a cloth or the inside of dryer, rub, it will take some work, then when you think its all clean run some old towels in it to get all the wd40 out.

Mineral oil.
Wipe it on and leave it for 30 minutes.
Put mineral oil on a nylon scrubby to rub it off after it has softed.
