my son can dislocate his thumb fairly easily, and it usually goes right back into the socket with a minute or 2. is this something i should take him to the doctor for?

tuesday night i was eating chapattis. i was in a hurry so i was eating them eally quickly and i think i got some of it stuck in my back. like in the middle between my shoulder blades it feels stuck in like my chest area on the back i drank loads of water but it still feel stuck it hurts a bit as well. i dunno if its still there or if its gone when i woke up this morning my back between my shoulder blades really hurt and i felt sick but now its not hurting as much. i dunno if the food is still there but my back hurts

About seven months ago I was playing softball and got creamed with the ball in my cheek. Of course, it swelled a ton and I had a slight black eye for a few days, but nothing major and I didn't really think anything about it because it wasn't too painful then. Now, if I lean on my hand for more than about 3 seconds I get radiating pains through that side of my face and sometimes when I yawn a lot it starts hurting. Should I just chalk this up to something that will get better eventually or should I go see someone about it? Its really more of nuisance than anything else, but the only thing that I really think is wierd is that it would be hurting seven months later.

I know icing can reduce swelling? But how does it work(medically)? Also, what other benefits are there from icing and for how long should it be done?

A few days ago, I got a canker sore on my bottom lip. I usually get these, but this one is different. It's different because it apparently has pus inside of it. It doesn't look like a bump either, in fact, it looks like it popped or something. Does anyone have any clue as to what this is? I've had it for about 3 days now, it doesn't seem to get worse, but I'm not sure if it's getting better either.

I broke my right hand 4 weeks ago i broke my little finger and the one next to it aswell as my palm. For the first 2 weeks i only had my fingers in bandages, due to the pain and discomfort i was in and never having broken a bone before, i went back to hospital where i was told i needed to be in plaster. 11 days after being in plaster i had this removed and yet another x ray and was told due to me not being put in plaster when it first happened my little finger has set in the wrong place. I have now been told that i need to try and use it and if in 4 weeks it doesn't work the same as it did i will have to have it broken by them. Has anyone else ever had this happen to them?

i got hurt on the job lifting heavy boxes for two days straight. i work overnight. the 2nd night of working is when my back went out. the lower part of my back where the indention is swollen and hurts and it is hard to rest. i told my job and they told their insurance company. i was told to go to the doctor and fill out the neccessary paperwork as far as workers comp.

Since then the doctor has been unsuccessful in trying to get an authorization faxed to them from my employers insurance company that they will pay the bill. THE DOCTOR OFFICE CALLED ALL YESTERDAY AND SO FAR TODAY AND THEY GET THE RUNAROUND. I tried calling the insurance company also and stayed on hold to long. i HAVE NOT BEEN SEEN BY A DOCTOR YET BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY FOR THE VISIT.

WHAT DO I DO, I'M STUCK AT HOME BECAUSE MY EMPLOYER TOLD ME TO STAY HOME UNTIL I'M SEEN BY A DOCTOR. BUT I'M GETTING NO HELP FROM THEIR INSURANCE COMPANY.

PLEASE SOMEONE OFFER ME SOME SUGGESTIONS..

Or must you wear runners to absorb the shock? Every once in a while I might feel pain around my foot the next day but very rarely. Just wondering if I keep this up will it cause problems with my bones or feet etc later on?

I broke my ankle and have crutches from 6-8 weeks. Yeserday I went to school and I did lost of walking around (elevatore is at the other side of the school). Today i am sore in the hands, arms, armpits, both legs, abs and everything else. How can I get around with out be so sore and recover form yesterday?

I was in a minor car accident a week ago, and knocked my head on the inside of the car. When I hold my hand to the part of my head that I hit, it's a little sensitive. I've had some unusual headaches, and the weirdest thing is that I've had multiple nosebleeds. Once I woke up bleeding, and then again a few times. Should I go to a doctor?

when one of my friends was cleaning her ears,she saw that she had a lot of ear wax in the deeper part of her ear,it was seen by looking at the amount of wax on the ear bud,she decided to push further the ear bud and suddenly cant hear on her left of her ear,the bud was ok when it came out,so its not stopping the ear from hearing,cud it be that the eardrum is perforated, and if so,can it be replaced?to turn the earing back again,if not then what can be back to give back the hearing in the ear again?

My Dr. says I have venous insuffiency and recommended support hose. I got some, but they don't seem to help much and my ankle still swells. I've been researching and there are a number of natural supplements online, like butchers broom, and horse chestnut. Do you have this leg vein problem and do you take anything for it and does it help?

1. Is it possible to have an ACL tear and still play sports without fixing it?

2. Do they ever get MRI's mixed up?

See, I injured myself last May and gotten an MRI done about a week ago because it was still hurting me. I got my results back and my doctor tells me I have a tear in my ACL. she is surprised that it is not hurting me more and that this must be due to well developed quad muscles etc. Is this even possible? Anyone else out there with this kind of story.

Several weeks ago I was changing a tire on my car when the jack broke and it fell on my arm/wrist. My lower arm/wrist was pinned under the tire for about a minute or so before I could get it free. I went to the ER and had an X-Ray done and there were no breaks that could be seen. I was told to apply ice and wrap it with an ACE bandage and wait for the swelling to go down. Now the swelling has gone down and the arm looks normal again but I still get these really intense pains and electrical-like jolts when I manuever my arm in certain ways. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hey people this is gross but i must ask! I steped in bleach barefoot by accident on sunday now my foot is (ew) PEELING!! Does any one have any creams or treatments I can use to make the peeling go away did I mention that same foot is also sprained! My foot from the peeling stings when I walk and going to the doctor is not going to happen so any creams ideas? commets about how stupid I am?

i had an operation 1 year ago removing an ovary-cest i had. the operation took longer than what it suppose to be, when we asked why, doctors told us that they found a bleeding in my colon that needed some stitches, but now all alright. i had doubt regarding that bleeding. as how it did happened? i've been told by another friend-doctor that the doctors are the ones who pierced my colon mistakenly during operation(micro) she told me that happened a lot! i believed her as if i have been bleed' long before operation then i'd have died from that! my question now is should i worry about the stitches in my colon? can this mistake disturb my natural colon functions? can this lead to other problems(alcers or so..) know' that i used to have an irritable bowel syndrom(IBS) especially under stress i used to have very bad abdominal pain. Now i do feel this very often too, specially when train' or carry' heavy things, am i hurt' my stitched colon like this? what else should i do& not do?? Thanx.

I desperately need help.

For two months now there's been a growing hard lump about the size of a grape that's in a VERY STRANGE position to be either a hemorroid or vulvar cancer... It resides about an inch away from my anus, a half inch away from my pertonium, and another half inch away from the bottom of my vagina on the left side. For the last two months I've been treating it with hemorroid cream and it's fluxuated between getting better and worse for no explainable reason. Yet for the last two weeks or so I've been experienceing a growing discomfort with it, unyil finally last night when I went to the bathroom (to go #1) and wipe I discovered blood on the paper. To my horror, the bumps center is gone (the size of the tip of my pinky finger) and tissue, bleeding tissue is protruding out through it a short ways. WHY is there tissue coming out of it???? And what is it!?!?

Help :(

I was moving furniture around last weekend, and have a nice bruise to prove it on my right calf/lower leg muscle. There are some scratches too, but they're not too obvious. The skin is grayish-light purple.

I am going to a wedding this weekend, and the dress does NOT hide the bruise.

I have another one on the back of my knee that is much darker too.

Any ideas/ home remedies/ secrets? =P

My friend hit her head today at school..badly. She said she felt dizzy, was kinda nauseous, and has a severe headache. She went to the nurse who checked her eyes then gave her an icepack. 15 min later when we were in the tech lab i noticed soemthign severley wrong. She couldnt spell her own name, or the word seed!! She was having a lot of confusion too. Then she said all of a sudden she could see extremely WELL. She said her vision was perect, and she is nearsighted and has glasses. So i told her she had better see the doctor. She refused, because she was supposed to meet her dad after school and go get a flu shot at longs drugs, and she is COMPLETELY TERRIFIED of shots. She came to my house to avoid her dad, and is refusiing to tell them what happened. Could soemone please explain how serious this is to her? I triied to tell her it could be deadly, but she doesnt believe me!!

when i was 13 i broke my nose and it never completely shrunk back down from its swollen form, especially between my eyes. also now it has a huge bump/dent in it and my profile is horrible. i now have a beak nose. my nose was perfect before and i was wondering if now i should really do it, it makes me nervous and i'm only 16 years old.
