I was moving furniture around last weekend, and have a nice bruise to prove it on my right calf/lower leg muscle. There are some scratches too, but they're not too obvious. The skin is grayish-light purple.

I am going to a wedding this weekend, and the dress does NOT hide the bruise.

I have another one on the back of my knee that is much darker too.

Any ideas/ home remedies/ secrets? =P

Icing it down may help it heal faster, but the simple act of walking may irritate it! And don't cross your legs; whether the bruise is above or below one leg or the other, it will still put additional pressure on the bruise, which, naturally, will make it worse.

If you're not a bridesmaid, use any concealing make-up that you have, or wear full-length stockings (presumably, you'll be dressing elegantly, anyway, so nobody will think twice about the stockings).

If you are a bridesmaid, I presume the dress is full-length, so that will hide all the marks! If it isn't full-length (what is this, a 1960's hippie wedding???) ;) then make-up will have to do!

If you think that the make-up might rub off during the festivities, and are that paranoid to believe that somebody would be rude enough to ask you about it, then use a body paint that matches your skin tone; they are designed to last a long time through all kinds of movement and sweat!

Just be grateful it isn't a nudist wedding! ;)

Good luck, and save a piece of the wedding cake for me! ;)

One things for sure... try not to hit the same bruise after you already hit it. I get a lot of bruises because I'm clumsy but...
a way to let it heal faster is not to scratch or touch it AT ALL!!! Also put alcohol on the scratches to eliminate bacteria. ☺ and here's a link to a funny video... enjoy http://youtube.com/watch?v=JPONTneuaF4
