I broke my ankle and have crutches from 6-8 weeks. Yeserday I went to school and I did lost of walking around (elevatore is at the other side of the school). Today i am sore in the hands, arms, armpits, both legs, abs and everything else. How can I get around with out be so sore and recover form yesterday?

it will take time for you to get used to walking with crutches. don't put your weight on your armpits, but on your hands and lock your elbows. your weight should be on your hands. after a week or so, you won't be so sore. take a painkiller or use a pain relief rub, like BenGay or Aspercream.

as Wendy says..put the weight on your hands, no where else. Cushion the hand grips and armpits with some foam rubber. Be sure there is two finger widths between your armpit and the top of the crutches....no more...no less. Swing as you walk.
