Several weeks ago I was changing a tire on my car when the jack broke and it fell on my arm/wrist. My lower arm/wrist was pinned under the tire for about a minute or so before I could get it free. I went to the ER and had an X-Ray done and there were no breaks that could be seen. I was told to apply ice and wrap it with an ACE bandage and wait for the swelling to go down. Now the swelling has gone down and the arm looks normal again but I still get these really intense pains and electrical-like jolts when I manuever my arm in certain ways. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The pain you describe is classic nerve pain. Good news is that the pain will probably go away. If you are using it then stop. Rest it as much as you can. Also, even though the swelling has gone down that does not mean that there is still not swelling inside the joint. The wrist holds many little places for swelling and inflammation to hide. Ice your wrist but don't keep it wrapped anymore when you are not using it. Although wrapping can help protect and injured joint, it can also restrict blood flow. You want to keep the swelling down but get as much good blood flow as possible. When you are sleeping or resting on th couch keep ice on it and keep it unwrapped. If the pain persists at the same pain level that you are describing now the go see your regular doctor in a week and he will refer you to the right doctor be it a nerve doctor or orthopedic doctor. The EC is not a good place to get further treatment for the pain you are describing. The best thing is to rest it as much as possible. Remember the R.I.C.E: Rest, Ice, Compression (when active), and elevation above the heart. Works more often than not.

Could be a pinched nerve, but most nerves come from the spine and neck areas.I think it is just a part of the healing process.Prick your fingers with a pin and see if you feel it or not.If you do not feel the prick then it is a pinched nerve which you really can't do anything for.Maybe some physio therapy .See a doctor to get it checked again and then go from there.
