Hello Jessie,

Might be a good idea!

I don't really want to put a downer on you but what if no one knows of this, you could get into trouble, at a later date, for harming him!

Such silly things happen these days, you have to be aware of all the possible consequences!

Hope you see where I'm coming from?

Pamela :-)

If you have a doctor that you normally see for your child, I would call and see if you can leave a message for the doctor or nurse incase it is not a big deal. At the pediatrician I worked for for 2 years, we would take nurse calls for existing patients incase they were unsure of if they needed to make an appointment. I would definitely just call up there and see what they think because they see those kinds of things everyday.

Personally I would, but thats just me. We all know it can't hurt by seeing a Dr. But I know many people do have this same thing with their thumbs, and so on. It's not causing him any pain??? Given his age, I'd take him and make sure theres nothing that needs to be done, I'd hate to see him do it, and cause him pain, or problems later on given he's growing and still developing greatly. Best wishes...

I wouldn't think it's anything to worry about but I'd probably take him just to be safe. Many people can dislocate different joints with no problems.

I wouldnt worry too much, as long as it goes back in easily. Hopefully he isnt doing it on purpose. There wont be anything that can be done about it. Sometimes this happens in kids. You could go just to find out how to put it back in yourself, as you say it usually goes back in i assume you mean on its own.

Not if it doesn't hurt. Not if he is doing it purposely.
If he is doing it as a nusance try having him wear mittons or gloves.
It sounds like something that will cause artheritis in later life.
You should make him stop.

Yeah I suggest getting it checked out. I dont think it's urgent or anything - but it could be a problem.

good luck
