Eardrum Replacement

If she had punctured or otherwise damaged her eardrum, she would have had excruciating pain. A more likely scenario is she has pushed the wax farther into the ear canal and caused temporary hearing loss.
As another responder said, never put something smaller than the elbow into the ear canal; that includes ear buds (Q-Tips). The ear has hairs which will eventually push out the normal production of earwax, so no extra cleaning is necessary. If the wax hardens, the ear needs to be irrigated, but this should only be done by a medical professional such as an doctor, nurse, or audiologist.

My husband had a ruptured eardrum when he was in the army - it repaired itself. Surgery can be employed if necessary. Simply, the ear drum works like a drum - sound waves hit it and make it vibrate; these vibrations are passed further into the ear through 3 tiny bones which the brain interprets into understandable sounds
To soften wax, a good home remedy is to put your head on one side, pour in a little warmed olive oil, a small plug of cotton wool (not pushed into the ear canal) and give it a bit of time to work. If you need it syringed after that, the wax will flush more readily.
Do not push cotton buds into ears!

Never put anything smaller than your elbow in your ears. I sounds like the wax has been pushed against the eardrum. She needs to put olive oil in her ear, definitely not Otex, according to the doctor, then after a few days get a nurse to syringe it. No, eardrum's can't be replaced.

She's pushed earwax against the drum, stopping it from moving! If the ear drum cant move, you cant here! She needs to clear the wax, and a cotton bud is a NO!!!!!!!! Us a liquid disolvant like Otex. Cotton buds should never be used!

Perforated eardrums usually heal but if the hole is too large surgical repair is sometimes required.
See a doctor.

Have her see an ear doctor. I'm not sure what they call it but they use a tiny vacuum to suck out any dirt and wax in your ear. Its tickles at first. But painless.
