Injuries - October 2007

On Saturday night last i was out and got a vodka glass thrown at the back / side of my head it hit the part of my skull behind my ear. There was no blood just a bit of a dull pain and a small bump. i was pretty sore all day sunday with thumping pain but it went away by monday. Then monday night i had sex and just when i was about "to finish" i got this really bad pain all over the right hand side of the back of my head, in a bigger area to where i got hit, it went away after i had some sleep, no pain on tues or weds but last night i had sex again and just as i was about to "finish" again it happened again and now this morning i have woken up and the pain is still there. It is a kinda dull throbbing pain that kinda makes me feel as though i want to puke. Does anyone know what might this pain be cause i'm kinda worried there maybe a clot or something??? Pls no smart answers cause i am seriously in pain here at work and need to know whether i should go and see the doctor

if you brake your tail bone does the docter have to actually look at your but?

what happens if its broken?


what happens if its bruised?


how can you tell the difference what are some symptomes?

My friend was in a high school play. In one of the scenes, she gets slapped pretty hard on her right cheek. The play ran for 2 weeks. For the sake of authenticity, she left the other actress actually slap her. She says that to this day- the play was 2 yrs ago- she sometimes can't hear out of her right ear. Could the repeated slapping have caused permanent damage?

The other day, I had a hard heavy door to slam me in the head accidentally. The next day, I was real dazed and my mom said I acted like I was in la-la land. I was really dazed. Later, I had a headache that felt like it had a lot of pressure in it. When I was walking, I suddenly lost my balance and almost fell and just caught myself in time. Today, I accidentally got hit in the head again. I'm a little dizzy. I've been hit in the head twice. Concussion?

recently three weels ago i was involved in an accident on the job i dislocated my left wrist ever since my whole hand has been really swollen but know that three weeks had gone by some of the swelen has gone by too but the strange part is only my middle finger is still swolen from my injury my question is what do i do for the rest of the swelen to go away do I
1. keep it in hot water for an hour or 2. put some kerosen in it to suck up all the swelen any ideas i mean i could move my whole hand but not as much as i did before the accident like i said the only problem is my middle finger is still swolen..

2 weeks ago my lower back was in agony I could hardly walk and it felt as though my back was really arched. I felt like I was walking with my stomach out. I had to ask my boyfriend was I walking properly. After a couple of days it totally went. Now its coming back its mostly on the right side of my lower back, what could it be?

you metacarpels. The ones that are inbetween your wrist and you knuckles. I know that it takes 5lbs to break an arm or wrist and 12 lbs to break a knee but how much pressure can that take??

i fell over the other day over a metal beam and it caused this injury. Im worried because it really hurts and it looks a funny colour to me and im worried if its infected or if ive got tetnus (we werent given injections at school)..should i go to the doctors or does it look alright to you? ..i asked my teacher and she said its fine and its healing nicely but i need a second opinion!!

i think i tore a cartilage in my knee about 3 months ago, i really thought my leg would heal and calm down. I have left it soo long.

My leg is still the same i cant bend it or straighten it, there is still allot of pain when i try to straighten it. It has been exactly 3 months and im just thinking maybe i have left it too late?
Do you think the doctors could help me?
3months is a long time, maybe its too late?

Somebody at my work place passed out, and they don't have any history of blood pressure problems or anything. As a matter of fact, his most recent physical was just a couple of months ago, and his doctor said he was fine. When he came to, he said he had struck his elbow on one of the shelves in the office. He had the cold sweats and a pale complexion, but then seemed fine. I've never heard of that . . .

i overused my arm, and my dminant arm is really weak now. i play basketball and im serious about this its been 2 and a half month since i got this injury. massage therapist said i also have damaged tissue around right back of my back. so that is why it was causing the weakness on my dominant arm. cuz the blood really didnt flow back to my arm very well. i also kept playing video games since i got this injury. but no bball. im soo frustrated, beacuse its still not healed yet. massage therapist said "its not a serious injury, dont worry about it".im just wondering if im gonna get 100% strength back. like do these kind of injuries fully heal?? (ive never expierenced any severe pain". im not really sure why its causing the weakness on my dominant arm but one day i got my ipod stolen. i got really stressed. too much. and since i got this injury i worried too much about it. im 15 years old. my main question is that if this is going to fully heal and my shoulder makes that clickin sound when.

Can "Head trauma" cause stuttering? And if so, what does that mean? Does it mean it's a serious injury?

They went to the doctor, but the doctor said it was nothing but stress. So I told my friend to get a second opinion. What hospital is good to go to for a second opinion for something that may be head trauma?

If you can answer any of these questions, it would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Pls help! At dinner tonight, I dished my 8 yo daughter up a plate of spaghetti. I put it on the counter & she came to get her plate. As she grabbed it, the hot spaghetti fell off her plate, into her eye, down her face and all over her chest. She started screaming & I grabbed her, took her into the bathroom and started splashing cold water on her face & soaked her down w/wet towels. There was no burns to her chest. I got some ice and wrapped it in paper towel for her eye & noticed the skin on her eyelid and below her eye was peeling off. We raced her to the closest clinic who said they didn't know what to do and to take her to the Children's Hospital (on the other side of the city) So we did. They doped her up on codeine as soon as we arrived and we waited forever. The doc told us to put polysporin on it and sent us home...but she is in so much pain it's killing me! They didn't even bandage her eye! Her eye sight is OK, but I wonder what else I can do for the burn...pls help

My lip is bruised and busted. There are lacerations on the inner lip. The police officer said I should go see a doctor to reduce risk of infection but I really don't want to go. My face is a mess because my ex abused me recently. Please help. I've got a whole heaps of medical stuff in the kitchen cupboard. I don't need stitches... but what would help to reduce the risk of infection and make the swelling go down?

I have a BAD scrape on my knee and it hurts really bad. Last night I put a guaze pad on it and wrapped it up. Well this morning the gauze is stuck. I have a low tolerance for pain and it just hurts way to bad to try to take it off. What should I do?

i was doing backflips 4 days ago and broke all my bones in my leg by a misplaced landing, and the doctor said i had 3months till its fully healed, and im here 4 days later and it is fully healed, i dont even have a scar where he put a metal rod.. and suggestionss to what has happened?

I also have a 2 cm cut which was taken care of at ER.
For the 1st 7 days I didn't really have any headaches, but during the last couple of days an opposite part of my head is starting to hurt deep inside somewhere, and it's kinda moving towards the backside of the eye, and I'm just not sure why it happens and could it be related to the crash? I have a bit of amnesia related mostly to the short period of time before the crash - and I remember moment of the crash itself - and then I don't remember the period immediately after the crash. I don't think I lost consciousness at any point of time, I did feel a bit of sick periodically though but it's not like I was REALLY sick to vomit. I have trouble sleeping, sometimes I get really nervous (having in mind that I could have killed someone, God forbid, I guess that's normal), my appetite isn't really good, and primarily I want to know could these headaches be related to the head injury and in what way, since they started 10 AFTER the crash?

I was skateboarding and I sat on my skateboard and went down a ramp and slipped off the back so now I have a scar on my hand, a cluster of little scars on my hip, and on my knee some of my skin came off so now it's red. Well, this happened yesterday, Sunday, and my hand scar is on the knuckle of mf pinky, right hand, and it hurts. It looks like it's bleeding but it's not. It's a little swollen and around the red looks-like-bleeding part it's a greenish,brownish,yellowish color.


Is it infected? Explain infected please.

I work with kids, and today at the park I hurt my back. I am not sure how, but I did. It hurts when I breathe, and when I walk up the stairs, or when I carry something, or sometimes even when I just walk. Should I go to the doctor, or just wait a few days?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I went to my Aunts house in the beginning of July 2007 and i stubbed my toe on her Thick table leg. Ever since then the slightest touch to that toe will cause me unbelievable pain. I had it X-rayed and its not broken but it hurts. When my cat brushes againest it, it hurts like Heck. Its the toe on my Right foot. The one next to the Big toe. Does anyone have any advice or Ways to make it better and heal? Im 15 if my age has something to do with it.
