2 weeks ago my lower back was in agony I could hardly walk and it felt as though my back was really arched. I felt like I was walking with my stomach out. I had to ask my boyfriend was I walking properly. After a couple of days it totally went. Now its coming back its mostly on the right side of my lower back, what could it be?

It's probably a mucscle spasm caused by a trapped sciatic nerve - but you must get that checked by your GP - could also be kidney stones.

Common causes of this sort of pain in a normal back are muscle spasms and spinal misalignment. This type of pain can also be caused by spinal injuries, bone spurs, and herniated discs. When the pain moves around, that suggests that the problem is most likely a muscle spasm. If its caused by a muscle spasm, you can usually locate a muscle that feels like it has hard knots in it, and is painful when you push on the muscle with your fingers. If you aren't sure of the cause, it would be a good idea to see either an orthopedic doc or a chiropractor.

You really shouldn't wait any longer...see a medical practitioner. Guessing isn't a reliable approach to back pain.
