It could be recurring infection. You mention that after seeing the specialist, your infection was better before finishing your antibiotic prescription. Did you stop taking the antibiotic? You were supposed to take the whole thing, no matter what! NEVER stop taking antibiotics early - ALWAYS take the entire prescription even though you feel better! That's very important! Either way, I think you should go back to that specialist and get him to examine the lumps in your lip. You need to know if those are infected again (or still), or if it is scarring. If it's just scarring, make sure you ask him about how you'll know if you have an infection starting again. Once you've had an infection like this, you are at a high risk of having it again later, so you will always have to be vigilant about it, for the rest of your life. Good luck!

Apply ice to your lip to reduce the swelling. Keep the cuts and such clean, and keep your hands away from them unless you just washed them. You can swish the mouth with regular antiseptic mouthwash, and ordinary mouth care will help keep chances of infection down. And do consider going to the emergency room anyway. You probably are somewhat embarassed, but you certainly won't be the first to come in after this sort of thing and unfortunately won't be the last either. And since your ex is responsible, he's also responsible for the medical bill. I assume you plan to press charges, and the cost of the medical treatment would be his problem. And you might not need stitches, but there can be other damage done to bones and things, not to mention teeth- that needs to be checked out. So please reconsider going to the ER.

Since the laceration is on the inside of your lip a topical ointment most likely won't stick long enough to work, so the only thing I can think of is penicillin for fighting infection (if you have any, otherwise you usually need to see a doctor to get that now days) and for swelling use ice and ibuprofen.

Try Zilactin. It's designed for mouth sores. It's a protein gel you apply to the sore and it clots up and seals the sore like a layer of skin. I think it also has some painkillers in it to numb the area. You can get it over the counter, at pharmacy stores like Walgreens, CVS, etc. I don't know if it's popular enough to be in regular grocery stores.
Also use anti-bacterial mouthwash like Listerine. Vitamin C suppliments usually speed healing.

Rinse your mouth with hydrogen peroxide (do not swallow), then with water. Put crushed ice in a small plastic bag on the wound. You may need to rinse several times. The peroxide will foam, so don't use too much at a time. It will help to kill the bacteria that causes infection. If your wound is too deep, you need to go to the doctor.

Ice will help the swelling go down, Polysporin (medicated ointment found on any drug store shelf) will help it heal, quickly.
If you're ex is abusing you physically, (assuming your ex is a he), he needs to have his head bashed in. You should at least go to the police. I just went through this kind of crap with my sister and her boyfriend.
