12 year old child received head injury kicking in bed and kicked a wooden stand that hold beanie babies off her wall.....violent sleeper. It landed on the upper right part of her head....not on the side. She has gooseegg.....had ice pack on it for 25 minutes. Goose egg is minimal now. Will wake her up every 2 hours all night to make sure she does not have concussion.....any other suggestions?

I dislocated my finger, and our student health center is closed. Is it terribly bad to let it sit overnight, or should I go to the emergency room? I really don't want to, it seems like a waste of time, but if it's necessary, I guess I will...

My boyfriend got kicked in his lower lip. And its not swollen or anything but its like broken skin.... and from what hes beent elling me it hurts really bad... tried teh ice thign but it just hurts him more.... please help!!! concerned girlfriend!!

I run track, distance to be specific. over the past few days shin splints have been getting worse. I ice, take anti-inflammatories, and even took a day off of practice. have a meet this wednesday where im in the 4x800m and 3200m, so any quick fixes would be greatly appreciated.

I got my lip pierced on my left side about 3-4 weeks ago. My best friend came along with me to get hers done too. However the guy that did our piercings did not give us any care instructions...now granid i do have my belly button and nose done but that was months ago so i dont remember what to do. Now my best friends boyfriend works at that SAME tattoo shop so he told her everything and she neglected to tell me everything. I did the best i could with ignoring it all together but i'm guessing i keep hitting in my sleep and im not cleaning it properly but i've gotten scar tissue around the outside and redness. Now i dont really care if i get a bump there with it its just i really want to know if the redness will go away. Is there anything i can do to make the redness go away?!? Please help!!!!

My mom broke her ankle nearly five weeks ago. The day after she broke it, she had surgery to put a plate in.

After two weeks, the doctor removed the hard cast and put her in a walking boot. She's been in that for three weeks.

In the last five days or so, her foot has a lot of peeling skin. It's almost like a typical sunburn, and large pieces are peeling off.

I'm thinking the old skin has "died" and the new skin is coming on. But, I'm not sure, and haven't been able to find anything about this.

Thanks for any sources of information and your good help!

PLEASE HELP! I think i swallow SOME PLASTIC and something from corn pops cereal , AND NOW I'M HAVING PROBLEMS. IT WAS STUCK IN MY THROAT, AND WAS STICKING IT FOR A FEW 8 AT FIRST. 2 WEEKS HAS PASS, AND NOW I THINK I MIGHT HAVE A BLOCKAGE OR SOMETHING. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO IT DID NOT SHOW UP ON THE X-RAY OR NOTING! PLEASE HELP. The hospital won't really do anything, they just say oh, you're okay, since you're not dying you have to see a specialist . NOW I HAVE BEEN CONSTIPATED AND OUT OF WORK FOR TWO WEEKS! I CAN'T HARDLY eat ANYTHING! I pass out on my way to the kitchen yesterday.

I am having sever sharp pains in the lower right side of my body. I looked up the symptoms for appendicitis but Im not really showing any symptoms besides maybe one. Could it just be cramping or something else? Should I consult a doctor?

i was throwing a football around with my guy friend.. and he threw it pretty hard and i caught it oddly and jammed my ring finger pretty bad.. it hurt like hell and 24 hours later it still does.. but it didn't start to swell until about 2 hours or so later.. this morning i woke up however, and my whole entire finger is black and blue, huge, and i can barely move it. i've had a whole handful of people look at it, and they all keep saying "it could be broken", at first they were all like " its only jammed the swelling should come down soon " but it hasnt. anyways, my question is.. what should i do? is it broken you think or just jammed? and if i go to the doctors/hospital later tonight (cause i'm working at the moment) is it too late? by the time i get there it will be probably 30 hours after the incident.. will they be able to fix it? please help, thanks in advance =/

My freind had her gallbladder removed almost a month ago and she has 2 kids so she really couldn't take it easy she started having pains here in the past few days and she feels icky she is sore around the area that her stitches are and you can feel little knots could it be from the surgery?

Everytime i kneel down (i fit children shoes) i get a sharp pain in my right knee as if i am kneeling on something hard. However, it isnt swollen but looking back i did knock it hard a dfew weeks ago when the pain started.

To be more specific, I want to see a specialist, about a carpal tunnel/RSI (Repetative Stress Injury) related injury.

I was thinking that Orthapedic, would be the type I am looking for, but when looking at the list of specialty types in my insurances list of perticipating providors, I only see Orthapedic Surgeon. No orthapedic non-surgeons, and I doubt I need surgery.

Guys with Facial Scars...???
I had a nasty bike accident when I was seven. We lived in the mountains of NC. I hit a tree with my forehead. The forse was so hard it busted open. I have a scar from my left eye up thru my hairline.

I am very self conscious about it. I can't go anywhere with out a hat (security blanket), I wear my hair combed forward.
I work as a server. I always have people asking me what happened, it gets a little old. I feel like that is all people see.
Wondering if there are any other guys out there that have sars to deal with. Is there a support group for guys??

I was playing badminton and wiped out on my arm. For the first couple days moving the forearm at all really hurt. Even immediately afterward, here was hardly any swelling and nothing really hurts when I touch it--even vigorously.

Now, 2 weeks later, I have a great deal of my motion back, BUT I cannot lift anything heavier than an envelope or, possibly a mug of coffee, nor can I fully extend my arm without a great deal of pain. Also when I get startled and my muscles contract, the pain is brief but excruciating.

I just want to know what's wrong--tendons? ligaments? nerves? and when can I expect this to go away?

Ok on Feb 2, 2007 I was driving with my fiancee when we were t-boned by a drunk driver.

He went to the hospital and they determined he has 1 herniated disc and 1 disc that is either bulging or completely slipped. We did another MRI last Tuesday. We go for the results today, what should I expect? Is surgery going to be the only thing that can make his pain go away? I am really nervous that is what they are going to suggest.
