I'm assuming she had her gallbladder removed laparoscopically? I work for a surgeon and what you have to remember is that the surgery "appears" to be a minor thing on the outside, due to the small incision sites...when in reality it is big surgery on the inside! She really did need to heed her doc's advice and rest post-op to heal. Although, she most likely didn't do anything to truly injur herself by tending to the kids.
The little knots you are describing around her stitches, where the Trocars went in, are most likely just some scar tissue build-up. Shouldn't be anything to worry about. If she's still feeling a general sense of malaise (icky) or major tenderness she should definately call her surgeon and go in for him to follow up. There should be no charge for that visit, since it should still be considered post-op treatment from her surgery. Hope she feels better soon!

I am having my gallbladder removed on thursday and my surgeon talked to me about this. i am having mine laparoscopically and he said that even tho the incision on the outside is really small... the surgery on the inside is a big deal. they are removing an organ (not an important one) but then they are connecting your liver to your intestine.
she should really see her surgeon. I just called my cousin (who is a surgeon) about this question and he said that he had a lady come in about 2 weeks ago with the same problem and she had an infection. he said that he knows they are always telling you to rest and take it easy and not a lot of people do.. but you really should after this specific surgery. because your body needs to get used to it and you are coming off anestesia and you will be really worn out. and time for recovery varies from person to person.
so.. no this not normal and PLEASE give her a break from her kids and tell her to go to her surgeon to make sure she can get it taken care of as soon as possible.

good luck!! :)

I think she should see a doctor. It could be an infection. Your friends body is telling her she NEEDS to take it easy, not just run around. The body could be having a reaction to stress.

I would go to the doctor IMEDATLY beacause thiere could be internal bleeding that could pose as a cause of death or possibly she could have come into a serious internal infection

my husband had his gall bladder out two years ago and ended up in the hospital 5 times!
he had stones in his liver
he is still not "well"
the gall bladder is nothing to play with.
