Injuries - March 2007

I got a mild concussion today at a soccer game. The trainer told me I should be fine, just not to sleep for a while and have someone check on me every couple hours. I'm worried that it might be more severe. I have a horrible headache. Anyone experience this before or have any other advice?

my friend was in the hospital from a car accident, and he had part of his skull removed to relieve swelling on the brain. well, 2 days later, his blood pressure began dropping, then a day and a half later, he passed away. the doctors said because his blood pressure got to low, he died in his "medicated sleep." IS THIS POSSIBLE!? He just passed away last night, and I can't believe its true. It sounds so fixable, why isn't it possible? HE DIDN"T SURVIVE =(

I need shoulder surgery and have been seeing a Dr. since Dec. After a battery of tests and monthly visits to his office, he didn't even remember why I was there. He came in the room looked at my chart and said "you pulled a muscle and you need physcal therepy." ( Iv' been in therepy since Dec.) At my last appointment he told me I needed surgery so I was confused and asked him if the torn muscle had healed and he said "what torn muscle?" After looking at my chart again he said "oh yes well here it is you need surgery." So here is my question. Should I let a Dr. who can't even remember me after treating me for 5 months cut me open? What do you think?

i was hit in the face yesterday (accident) and it hurt my nose sort of. there was no bleeding at all and no bruising occured as of yet but it still hurts a little when i apply pressure to the area. i didn't break anything did i?

Frist of all, I'm not sure if it's possible to have a bruised bone. But anyways, yesterday I went snowboarding and I was trying to do a box and I fell and landed on my arm kinda wrong. Now it hurts, but I don't see any bruises and it doesn't look swollen or anything. It hurts when I move it and when I press on a certan part of the bone in my arm, it reminds me of my shinsplints I used to get from running. I know shinsplints is when your muscle is tearing away from your bone...but what is making the bone in my arm hurt?? Is it a fracture or bruise?? Thanks to all who can answer this question for me!!!

i just started cheer and i really want to know how to do it and stretches for it and herkies and toetouches, how do i get them high and not hurt my self? i sorta got my heel stretch a little bit but i want to know!

I stumped my toe yesterday and this morning I woke up and it hurt REALLY bad!! It's purple-ish and hurts to walk. every time I touch it (if I can stand the pain) pus comes out along with blood. I have a doctors app. Mon if it's not better, but do I do for now? PLEASE HELP!!! THis really hurts. it's my right big toe.

is my low back pain gonna go away? i got it from sitting in a bad slanted position when i was always on the computer. it was a month ago and my lower back still hurts in various situations.

I broke both my Radius and Ulna bones in my left arm above the wrist. I was just wondering about how long I would it would take for them to heal. Also my hand and fingers are swollen and although I know that the swelling is normal, about how long until the swelling disapears? Is it normal that when I try to move my fingers it is difficult, and that they are stiff in a certain position, and when I try to strech them out I feel like I am also stretching the nevers or veins in my arm.

I injured my foot recently and they x-rayed from right to left of the foot. The pain was on the left so I suspect that is where the break/fracture would be. They did not x-ray left to right. Can they detect a break/fracture on the left side even though the x-ray was taken from the right?

I got 4 stitches in my forehead this past Monday (3-19) and the nurse said they should come out in 5-7 days. Today is day 5 and the stitches are sore and feel like they're pulling. It's not infected or anything like that, so that's not it. Should they come out today or should I wait until 2morrow or Monday?

we were at church yesterday, after small group bible study, and we were playing around wrestling each other. then my friend wrestle this one new kid that had just come from another country (korea). My friend picked this kid up and threw him on the ground, and when he hit the ground we heard a loud thump. i thought he might of broken the wood floor or something, but then i looked at his arm and his shoulder area was popping out. He landed on his arm. I do martial arts, so i was trying to pop it back in, but i couldn't find the place the shoulder popped. If this kid didn't pop his shoulder, then did he rip his tendons or deep brusing or what?

yesterday i slipped in my bathroom and hit my toe off the vent and it hurt extremely bad....befor bed i iced and it elevated it and it hurts a lil less today.it dosnt have a bruise or anything though. is it sprined or stubbed or is it broken? and i have plans tonight how what can i do to ease the pain so i can walk like a normal person? lol

and i play Runescape for hours on end

I can type 107 words per minute

please just tell me whats wrong

I was hit in the eye at rugby training on wed night. there was no swelling or anything just really sore. anyway on friday night whilst blwoing my nose, my left eye suddenly ballooned and swelled up. how do i sort it out and is it ok to still play rugby with it like that. i can see out the eye.

I had to repair a broken fridge magnet three days ago. I used superglue. the tube was leaking, so I got it all over my hands. now my right hand is stuck to the mouse and my left hand is stuck to the beerglass I was drinking from, which is now empty. I have to type using my elbows. I can call emergency services using my elbows, too, but unfortunately I tried to clean my hands by licking the glue off, now my lips are stuck together as well. I get through, but they think I'm a crank caller or a terrorist.
what am I to do?
(luckily I have NOT used the bathroom during this time)

i have got accidented and undergone through surgery for bones of my right arm.I am in the age of 30yrs. After 6 month of accident still healing in bones continue. As per doctor it will take littel more time.

My husband hit his foot while walking up our concrete steps. His big toenail hit the top edge and now it looks like almost the whole nail had been ripped up off the skin and it was bloody. The nail is still attached to his toe somehow. Should we go to the ER or can we do something at home? Right now it is bandaged up with gauze and he took an Aleve for the pain.

I am twenty five years old and recently I noticed that my toenails are darker and have dark bruises under a few (no injury) and there are ridges in them, also. What would cause this over the past few months? They didn't look like that last summer.
