I was laughing while I was swallowing. Most of the chips slid out of my nose but the top of my mouth is sore.

Those will dissolve. If they were chocolate chips you would have needed to put your head into a microwave to melt them out.
I assume that was the question even though you did not state one.

Try drinking some soda (any flavour you like). The pH level of soda should help to dissipate anything lingering around in your pharynx (area that connects the mouth and nose). You can also try to increase your fluid intake in general, which will of course promote more swallowing and will help the chips to move out of that area over time. You may want to pick up some nose spray, which will also help clear that general area of any chip fragments. Take an over the counter pain medication for the swelling and soreness at the top of your mouth. I'm sorry, I know that's got to be painful!

You should be careful not to make jokes when you are eating. If there is some residual food in your nose you may get an infection as the food decomposes. The best idea would be to go to your physician or an ENT specialist. If that is not possible you may try sniffing or blowing your nose to push the material one way or the other.
It is more serious when you aspirate food into your lungs. That can happen too when you laugh while eating.
