What sucks about hurting your knees is that they are so sensitive and you dont realize how hurting your knee can affect you until it happens.
My Brother tore his ACL when he played High School Football. And he still has trouble with his knee to this day.
What works best for him when his knee is acting up is wearing a brace (it's stretchy but fits tightly around the knee for support I believe he purchased it at a CVS or Walgreens,)
Icing it for 20 minutes and then walking on the Treadmill at a very very slow pace and for only about a half hour really works wonders.
I would suggest some sort of this regimen for yourself if you'd like your knee to get better. If this DOESNT help (the exercising WHILE wearing the brace, pacing yourself and timing yourself and then icing immediately afterwards..)
Then my only other suggestion would be to have a Doctor look at it, possibly prescribe painkillers and/or send you to physical therapy.
Good luck to you! ♥

My PT told me to ride the bike increasing & decreasing slowly. Walking backwards on the treadmill, while its is on an incline, start at 8 and try it at a low speed at first. Get a fitness ball and put against a wall and place on your back, slowly roll down to a sitting position and count to 10. Do this about 10 times, makes sure ball supports your back.
And ofcourse rest it, stretch it, put ice on it after you do any exercises.
