i ended up in the hospital for a couple of days. first they told me i was bitten by a spider and they wanted to keep me for observation. they cut open my wound in the ER and later admitted me. my husband was by my side and stayed with me both nights. poor hubby got as much sleep as me cus the nurses came in everytime i fell asleep and he had to get up in the mornings and go to work. my poor baby was so tired and he still stayed with me bless his heart. anyways finally they told me i had a staff infection. i had to go in2 surgery on thursday. it was kinda xciting cus i never been put to sleep before. they had to make a bigger hole because the boil like "thing" under my skin wouldn't drain properly. the dr's didn't give me a good xplaination just told me that it's a bacteria. but what causes this can anyone tell me further than what the dr's told me?

I have this weird running injury that has prevented me from running competitively in college. When I run by right lower leg turns inward after about 1 mile, I thought it was overpronation but orthotics didn't work, motion control shoes somewhat stabilize it, but not enough. Orthopedic doc took x rays everything is ok with my leg . Any sugguestions?? I really want to get going on running again.

So my uncle just had some surgery for his shattered thigh bone. He had a metal rod(?) inserted into his leg. He is wondering if the doctors are going to leave it in there or are they going to take it out later. Do any of you know the answer to this?

For last few days, whenever I stand up and put my arm down to side, I have a really bad pain in shoulder. It feel like as if my arm is squeezing blood veins in my shoulder and shut off circulation to my arm.

This have happen few time before and usually pain go away by next day.

I never have any serious injury to shoulder and haven't hurt it in past few months.

what could it be that cause this pain?

Like when you are ironing, cooking, brushing your teeth, do you tense your buttocks? Can this cause muscular or circulatory problems if you do it?

I have been having some leg pain and circulation problems lately and this morning I noticed I tense my buttocks constantly. I am wondering if this could be part of my problem.

This is a serious question, so if you just want to give a goofy answer, please don't. Thank you!

Hello I am Riyasa from Sri Lanka. I have two children 6 yearrs old daughter and one year old son. I wish to let you know of an incident which broke my son's arm bone. I was about to get ready to go to my daughter's school to collect her when I gave my son to the babysitter, after a minute he started crying so without getting ready to go I came and carried him and soothed him thinking that he was crying because I gave him to her, but he cried for one hour and he slept afterwards, then after he woke he started crying and several minutes later I noticed a swelling on his left arm and also he did not move it like he used to, so I suspected something and asked the babysitter but she said he just started crying then I took him to the doctor , they took Xray of his arm, showing that his bone was broken , then he was given anaesthesia several hours later and they put this heavy plaster. I have to keep him with the plaster till march 21st. Till his bone grows back to it's normal self.

DOES ANYONE HAS BEEN IN THE SAME SITUATION AS ABOVE. I AM WORRIED BECAUSE HE IS SO SMALL, WELL HE IS SMALLER THAN THE OTHER BABY'S OF HIS AGE BECAUSE HE DOES NOT DRINK ANY OTHER MILK EXCEPT FOR MY BREAS MILK BUT I TRY MY BEST TO GIVE HIM ALL THE OTHER FOOD. ALSO I AM WORRIED ABOUT HIS HAND MOVEMENTS, BONE STREANGTH, IF ANYONE CAN HELP I WOULD BE GRATEFUL THANKS. DOES ANYONE KNOW ABOUT THE AFTER CARE I MEAN AFTER THEY REMOVE THE PLASTER? PLEASE HELP ME.

People tell me it looks like a blank stare, and it only last for about 5-10 seconds.

He has the "boxer" break in his left hand... ER put on a temporary cast until he can be seen by a specialist. Is there ANY way other than ice/elevation/pain pills to help ease the pain??? He's a tough guy and is seriously struggling, and I feel so bad for him.

I need some advice....I'm in training for a correction officer...it's a 5 week program...I have to do intense workouts twice a week which involves running...I'm getting ready to start my 3rd week and I have developed shin splints....or I believe that's what this is as most of my classmates with more running experience have seen this before...however, I have 2 more workouts this week, back to back...is there anything I can do to aleviate the pain of the running??? it starts out sort of mild and by the time we're finished, i'm in pretty bad pain....If I can't complete these last 2 workouts, I cannot get my certification, so I have to find some way to get through this...ANY information will be greatly appreciated...I'm desparate for help at this point....

My mother and I had laser surgery to improve our eye sight at the same time. My eyesight dramatically improved by the next day, but 3 weeks later, my mother's eyesight is still blurred. The optician is talking about re-treating. Has anyone had surgery and their eyesight has improved after this length of time?

I don't know how long it's been there, but there is a knot the size of a quarter on the back of my head I'd say on the bottom left. When I touch it, it sends shooting pains and those pains last awhile causing my neck to hurt sometimes. I don't recall hitting my head on anything. So what should I do? Please help.
