how long does take to heal the spinal fractures and the rib cage fractures?

Ribs will hurt for several (3-5) weeks whether broken or bruised. Hug the area with a pillow or your spread out hands to cough... it will lessen the pain to brace the area like that.

Spine generally takes about 6 weeks for minor fractures that don't require braces or surgery... if they do, then consult your doc because the variables make it tough to guess how long it will take to heal...

fractures can take 6-8 weeks to heal. the surrounding soft tissues can take up to one year to heal. follow the directions of your orthopedist carefully and don't hesitate to call if you are feeling increased pain, shortness of breath, or loss of sensation below the injury site.

I had rib fractures and it hurt for almost two weeks. Don't watch comedies for awhile, it really kills when you laugh.
