i was putting a shelf up and balancing on a wobbly chair (i know really stupid thing to do) and i slipped off and fell on my arm i wnet to hospital and my arm was put in a cast and sling i know this question has been asked before but i would like to know has anyone got an detailed info about having to wear a sling or just arm slings in general because i really need some detailed adivce

well did the tell you how long to keep your arm in the sling.
you need to know that . if you have to wear the sling along time then you can go to a drug store that sells some medical supplies and get a better sling with padding on it and its a bit wider so its just more comfortable.
most often the angle the arm should be at if your sling is across your chest is like this . your thumb should end up at your nipple . that is a basic sort of set up.
you really need to know how long you are suppose to wear the sling thats very important.

my one year old broke his arm 2 weeks back, he also have to put that cast and he is also wearing that sling, the sling is used so that he will not move his arm much. you can wear the arm sling or any sling you like but remenber always not to move the arm which is on a cast. I hope you will get better soon.
