My girlfriend says that once the weather starts getting chilly, you should start wearing them, and you shouldn't take them off until summer because your body temperature adjusts to them and you will catch cold. She says there are long johns made in different weights for the different seasons, fall, winter, and spring. I say she's nuts, that the reason they're made in different weights is because people who work outdoors naturally need heavier ones than people who are just going to be out for a short time. I believe that it's just an old wives' tale that once you start wearing them you'll get sick if you take them off before summer. Who is right?

So, some two years ago I had a little accident. I am a postman, and was riding my motorcycle when it was slippery outside. I braked (or whatever) but accidentally "gave gas" (sped up), so I was "stretched" and had a "jab" in my back. I'm not sure if you understood what I wanted to say, but ever since that day I have some kind of leg pain (not severe) that goes through my whole leg and like there's something blocked in my lower back. I don't know what it would be, but the doctor suggested I might have got to go for injections in my back. I'm not a big supporter of that, since all that rubbish often does more bad than good. What would you do ?

14 years old and my back hurts like I'm 65! I don't know what to do! It hurts so bad, all along my spine and around my shoulder blades. Sometimes it even goes into my lower neck. I crack my back a lot, and sometimes it makes it feel a bit better, but is this making it worse? Other things that might be a part of it: I dance, cheer, and carry a large, heavy bag on my left shoulder for a total of about 2 hours a day during the week(give or take). Someone out there please help me!!! :'(

ok so me and a friend got drunk and he was going away to college so we branded a key on each of our legs, well im skinny so mine was white and i couldnt feel anyhting in that area afterward...so as I have read it is a 3rd degree burn.....anywho over the past 3 weeks the white area has gotton smaller and scabs have started to form from the ouside going inward, there is still a little white left in the center.Well I was just wondering how long this is going to take to heal as it is quite painful and if I should keep it bandaged or open to air.It covers only .5 % of my skin area and dont really have the extra money to go to a doc unless it looks infected....so your answers will be very helpful, thx a bunch :D

A few days ago a mysterious hard lump that feels similar to a swollen lymph node appeared on my left wrist, around the bottom of the back of my hand. It gets sore when I use that wrist too much. At the moment, just about every lymph node in my neck is horribly swollen (when I turn my head it sounds like Rice Krispies in my brain) and they are causing pain to shoot up my neck constantly. I figure I am probably getting sick, or fighting off some sort of infection. I get swollen lymph nodes in my neck all the time, but never my wrist! I don't even know if they exist there.

I also have tendonitis in both of my wrists. When the soreness started on that side, I thought it was just a flare-up. I've never heard of tendonitis causing lumps that are visible under the surface of the skin, but for all I know that is the cause of this mysterious thing.

Any ideas as to what this probably is? If I can't figure it out, I'll have to see a doctor and make sure it isn't anything serious.

I need to find information on Ulnar nerve damage and cannot find a good medical reference site. All sites i have found refer to the ulnar nerve as being in your elbow, however, his doctors are calling this nerve (right about his left eye) an Ulner nerve. I've Googled Ulnar nerve but still come up with 'elbows'. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I was in an automobile accident in March 06, I was rear-ended taking a left hand turn and the insurance company admitted liability imediately. My car was totaled and was in the er for exrays, ct scan and mri's. and they were talking about a settlement for physical therapy right away so I hired and attorney. My injury mostly has been whiplash, I also have cervical vertigo and am still being treated almost a year later. I have been to PT and vestibular rehabilitation ostepathic manipulation as well. I have been Dizzy for almost a year as well as anxiety and have been following all of my doctors recomendations. I am not trying to make quick cash but I do want to know some sorty of figure to ease the anxiety. My bills are around 10k and was out of work for 2 weeks right after the accident. Does any one have a figure for a sincere personal injury amount and pain and suffering? I haven't gotten an amount from my attorney as of yet. Thanks for your help!

On Thursday night I stepped down wrong, or something, and my got a sharp, stabbing pain on the outside of my knee. It happened a couple times before I said anything to my supervisor, and then later when I went back to my office it happened again and hurt even worse. My sup gave me some ice and I stayed off of it for the rest of the night. When I got home that night I noticed there was a little swelling where the pain was. This morning the swelling has increased and it tried to go out from under me again with the same sharp pain. The muscles had been feeling really tight around the joint for a little while before this happened. Never had any issues with my knee before (just my ankles) and I have no clue what I did. Need to get this taken care of quickly though because I work as a recreation assistant and being physically active is part of my job. Is the little "pouch" that is swollen is actually a fluid build up. Know I need to talk to a doctor but I don't get paid until Thurs.

I have them in my belly button following a laparoscopy. They are currently very visible (about 3 inches each side) and grossing me out!

I had the surgery five days ago and they still seem very apparant. How long until they go?

Also, would it be unwise to cut the ends?
