I am on my fifth day now since giving up smoking. I am using NiQuitin lozenge's and a lot of will power. I have given up before, but i mean to stay off for good this time. To be honest ,when i speak to my friends that are still smokers, and smell the tobacco on their breath and clothes it makes me more determined to stay off the dreaded weed this time.
Good luck.

I stopped smoking 3 years ago with the patches from my doctor. I decided to do it because I knew a few people who were smokers who died of lung cancer. I was so paranoid it kept me strong every time I had a caving. When I came off the mildest patches I went on the Lozengers . I realised the cravings were now quite rare . So I occasionally took the Lozengers just to get me through the last little hurdle. I still cant believe I done it as I used to be a chain smoker .People ask me if I ever get a craving now.I can honestly say never.I dont even think about it . I cant believe your managing to do it on willpower alone .Welldone and GOOD LUCK

I actually gave up in 1997 - I was ill with an ear infection and felt too sick to even look at cigarettes for over a week.
Once I started to feel better I realised I hadn't smoked for over a week and as the first week is the hardest in giving up realised that I had conquered it and there was no point starting again!!
I had given up before a few times with patches etc and found it hard, plus I always went back, but this time I haven't.
So next time you're ill ad can't face a cigarette, make the most of it!

It will age your skin terribly. It will shorten your life even if you do not suffer the horrors of lung cancer. I spend less on servicing, insurance and tyres for an executive car than a 20 a day smoker spends. And that person who you want may dismiss you at first glance if they see you smoke. I know it is hard. Just tell yourself thes things and then ask 'What do i expect to gain by it?'.

I stopped smoking nearly 4 yrs. ago now.I used the gum.I couldn't do it by willpower alone.I had tried before but failed, but this time was easier.
Two of my daughters also stopped. One stopped 18 months ago.She used the inhalator. My other daughter used patches for two weeks only. She has been stopped nearly 6 months now.The best of luck with stopping.

I once stopped smoking for a week and was really impressed with my self. I found that the first few days was really hard then after that your body starts to realise that it no longer needs nicotine. The probelem when you stop smoking is the thing with your hands beacuse I are used to having that cig in them. Try reading. cleaning, dancing. things that are practical

Just keep yourself busy and forget that cigarettes exist. Possibly go to the gym. Don't drink alcohol or eat fast food for a while because that will make you want to smoke more.
