I felt a ripping pain in my mid-left quadrant of my abdomen when lifting a heavy box. The surgeon has checked me twice and found no sign of a hernia. A Cat scan came up negative. After 2 months, I still have the pain when I twist or turn a certain way, or lean forward. The strange thing is that, I can usually do heavy work now without any problems, but sometimes when I bend over to pick up something light, like a newspaper or a pan, the pain will manifest itself again. Sometimes I feel a heaviness or pressure in my lower left abdomen after eating a large meal, or after standing for awhile. I know exactly when I did it yet it doesn't seem to be healing. Do abdominal strains take this long to heal? I thought I might have torn a muscle, but the doctor said there would be bruising if that happened. Does anybody have any legitimate ideas what could be going on? I would appreciate any advice.
