On the day you decide to stop, decide whether you really WANT to stop, and why. If you want something more than you want to smoke, and know you can't have both, it's much easier. Keep your mind on the thing you want, and you can do it. I kept an unopened pack of cigarettes with me. That way I couldn't light up without thinking; I'd have to open the pack first, and when I noticed what I was doing I had to decide one way or the other - Do I really want to quit, or am I going to keep smoking? Put it off for now, and after a couple of days, it's easier. They still smell good (12-14 years ago), but don't taste good! And I don't feel like a social outcast!

first you have to be ready to quit. if you arent ready mentally, then nothing will happen. there are a lot of programs (lots of them for free) out there that can help you if you feel like you cant do it cold turkey. good luck !!
