I was drimking a glass of water and my lip got scratched on a chip on the lip of the glass. A couple of seconds later I felt a sharp scratching slowly go down my throat and into my chest. I didnt know what to do so I tried to push it down with water then milk then potatoes. The feeling that something was stuck in my ches went away but I still feel a bit of pain when I swallow. What should I do?

Im constipated. I know I havent gone to the bathroom for at least 4 days, this being the 5th. I am already using stool softeners, I drank some Milk of Magnesia and I just had some ex-lax pills maybe a half an hour ago. I havent felt any strong urges to go, and I really want this stool to come out because I basically feel horrible and I cant do any activites. All I really need help with, is that when I attempt to pass the stool, it hurts like heck and even though I push quite hard it wont budge. Can somebody help me?

Hey, I've got a dreadnought acoustic guitar that I play about 3 hours a day and I'm on my laptop typing reports or surfing for about 3 additional hours a day. Lately my hands/wrists/arm have all been feeling rather sore almost like a pinched nerve. Obviously the cure would be taking breaks and not playing but can you explain what is happaning in my arms, longterm effects along with techniques or braces to help the problem?

My dad recently had gastric bypass surgery. He ended up having to be cut down his stomache instead of it all being done microscopically. He is still in a lot of pain and its been almost two weeks. Well, the majority of his staples are out but he is now wearing a wound vac to help prevent infection. Does anyone know the approx healing time on this and when he can start doing things. I want to plan a fun day out with him and my mom but they aren't sure and the doc is a goober. I just would really like to do something special for them and need a time frame.

I know what most of you must be thinking, but when you are in so much agony you'd rather die than go on living like this, you become willing to try anything that might help. I've gone through most every pain med available, including actic. But nothing helps much anymore. I'm going to die from this disease anyway, at some point, and the sicker I get, the worse the pain gets, and knowing there is no "cure" for my condition, I am willing to try anything. In the UK heroin in legally used as a pain medicine. It's sad for people like me to not have access to the same, except through illegal routes. If there's anyone out there who can tell me how to go about finding a "connection" for this drug I would be very grateful.

I have the following symptoms:
I had vertigo a few days ago with a slight ache and pressure in the ears. It felt as if it were blocked. It's lessened and I no longer feel severe vertigo (dizziness), but I still have a headache (not a migraine though). To make it worse...I'm fighting off insomnia...I can't fall asleep and when I do i wake up half an hour later feeling like i was just on the verge of sleep but can't quite fall into a deep sleep. I went to the doctor, but all he said was..."I'm not sure what you have. You don't have an ear infection. You don't seem like you have a virus. It could be BPPV or something else. Let's wait two weeks and we'll go from there." I've waited a week and it's become a pain in the butt. Has anyone felt this before?

I am a vet tech student, and for some reason i always hear that the nursing students in my college dont like vet tech students...we learn basically the same exact things...becuase after all...a vet tech is pretty much the same as a nurse..for animals...what do you think...why dont nurses like us?

im am very frustrated about my sleeping patterns. i wake up several times a night and eat and do not know I am doing it. I know the nights I have done it becuase I feel sick to my stomach the next morning and food wrappers are laying around the house. When I first try to fall asleep (like as soon as my head hits the pillow) I start having these (sometimes) nightmares and sometimes regular dream images. I cant really consider them dreams becuase I am half awake half asleep. I have tries all the methods of getting sleep (no caffine, etc.) the only thing I have not done is trying sleeping pills which I do not want to do. Any help would be great thanks.

I have considered buying a plan of some kind, but it just seems like money down the drain. I never, ever go to the doctor. I believe in letting the body heal itself if possible. And if there's some major catastrophe that happens to me, I can get government assistance like pay on a sliding scale or something, right? Is this a major risk?
