I guess my questions is, ladies, what was your first urology appointment like? I am going for frequent UTI's (ive had 3 in the last year, i guess that qualifies as frequent) and I am scared of whats going to happen in the appointment, particularly because the urologist is a male. That discomfort factor makes me a little nervous...but its more the kinds of tests he's going to do, or the tests that he might end up ordering, that really scare me. I dont want to go!!! Can anyone offer any comforting words or insight as to what happens at your first urology appointment???

What can cause a middle-aged female to have trouble urinating? No pain or burning and very full bladder, but could not urinate without "pushing" forcefully. Originally was a light stream, then after pushing, was able to let out a burst of air and then the urine came out...Very weird.

What are some things that can cause this problem and how do I keep this from recurring?

(I do not have medical insurance and am low income, so would prefer to see if there is something I can do, short of paying for a doctor's visit and lab tests, if I can avoid it).

My left tear duct is red and swollen. A coworker said I must have a blocked tear duct, as though it was something common. Any ideas?

As part of my technical report writing course, I am investigating the Cadbury Salmonella case.

I have read that "most cases clear up in four to seven days and seldom need treatment, but serious cases can lead to other problems including arthritis."

Is arthritis the most serious problem salmonella can cause? Could you comment on the cost of treatment of the worst that salmonella can cause?

Thanks,
Hakan

I lost a lot of weight about 3 years ago by basically eating three times a week and walking 10+ miles per day.

Now I eat regular meals and walk about 4 miles a day but I always feel like I am having an adrenalin rush, even when I am tired.

If I don't have a few alcoholic drinks before bed I end up only sleeping about 2 hours a night.

I will feel the need to go, and my stomach/intestines feel that pressure/pain, but sometimes without forcing it, the poop won't come out. This is embarassing to even ask, but I have looked online for an answer and have found nothing useful.

I am diagnosed as having Multiple Sclerosis.
I have learned that exacerbations can be caused by stress.
When I think back on the various what I now know to have been exacerbations, they were always at times when I was experiencing stress.
The earliest I can remember from about the age of 8, is motion sickness.
The major ones that I am now experiencing is visual impairment which was first diagnosed as optic neuritis; a stroke like exacerbation and for the past 3 years, I am experiencing a sensation from my waist down to and including my toes
that causes an imbalance in my gait to the extent that I need a walker to keep my balance when I walk.
After muscular exertion, I get very tired, winded and on occasion, lightheaded.
All of these exacerbations came at times when I was experiencing stress to some degree.
Is it possible that instead of stress being a trigger; stress and or some other mental disorder could be causing a chemical imbalance in the body that brings about MS?

Here's mine.Nurse comes to house acting odd, doesn't make a lot of sense, Falls asleep.Gives patient inferior meds, approved by hospice.Patient deteriorates at rapid rate.Caregiver recognizes patient has problem immediately after starting new meds,{zoloft}Nurse refuses to stop zoloft, explaining that the patient is simply getting worse on his own. After all he is dying, that is why he is in Hospice. Finally after several weeks, patient stops zoloft on his own, begins to gain weight, feels better.I complain to the local hospice. They now send out a "grief counselor" who is not at all sympathetic, citing the familiar theme,"he's dying anyway, patient is tossed from program for complaining. By now someone has reported the nurse, who fails a reasonable suspicion drug test for marijuana &?. She is put on a drug abuse program and sent back to work after about 30 days.Grief counselor also fails drug test. Hospice national HQ says no patient entitled to program.Thank you Hospice of Lake &Sumter Florida!

My name might indicate im a alcohlic but its just a BS name I use for spam. Anyways, I do not have a tolerance to benzos (daily use/even weekly) I try to take them here and there to help anxiety or sleep and they do absolutley nothing. Even at 20 mg valium or 1-2 mg xanax just have no effect. This is strange to me and I do not have this problem with any other meds. Is my liver just a sponge or what. I was thinking about trying Kava kava or valerian root wich are natures benzos but again I am reluctent to even waste my money. WTF is going on. Some plasma level thing I dont understand. They even gave me a high dose of Halcion a while back for a MRI and it made me anxious. Has anyone else ever had this problem..if so want work for you?

I tried the crest alcohol free mouthwash and I used it for 1 minute. I could feel my tongue start burning and now I get a complete taste of sweet stuff. This happened yesterday. Has this happened to anyone before? What should I do and how long it would take to recover? I saw a doctor who just said it was a burn which caused it but was unsure about th recovery time. Any ideas?
