I get this THING about 3 maybe 4 times a year where I feel like I have the flu-all my joints and muscles get very achy and sore but no fever. I have been to a rheumatologist and she found nothing like lupus but I just had a dose of it last night again and today when I woke up, I feel better, it is not as bad.

I just had my thyroid checked and the doctor left a message that my TSH level was high (5.16) but the other one (starting with a t ?) is normal. I am going to make an appointment with a doctor for the high TSH. I have been searching on the internet and cannot find a straight up answer for what normal TSH levels are.

Basically I want to know this... How HIGH is a TSH level of 5.16 ?

I have just learned that Gardasil Vaccines can prevent cervical cancer for girls and women aged 9 to 26. My question is this: If a woman age 30 or older is already hpv positive, high-risk, is it too late for her to have this vaccine? what would be the adverse effect, if any, if injected to women who are 30 y.o. and older, who already is HPV positive, high-risk?

So twice I've been to the ER for severe abdominal pain (in the center and right below my sternum). Once in December of 2005 and again just yetsrerday. They put me through some tests yesterday, an abdominal flat & upright x-ray, bloodwork, as well as an abdominal ultrasound. The doctor says that there were no stones seen on eiter test, but scheduled me for a HIDA scan to be done on Tuesday, because he says that my gallbladder may not be functioning properly, if at all. Has anyone had this problem? Could I have gone for 2 years between attacks? Help! Whats going on with me?!?

I have been having a real hard time getting diagnosed by my doctors. This is the 4th doctor I see in a year. He said I have fibromaialgia with additional symptoms of Lupus (rash, hair loss ANA positive 80) and sacroilical and neck issues that could indicate Ankyliosing spindolitis. He ws really great and set a bunch of blood tests and MRI to reconfirm the outcome of the x-ray of my sacroiliac joint.I guess we will se once the results come. However I do wonder if it is even possible to have three diseases at the same time. Does anyone know?

the reason why i am asking this question is that my father had stroke 1 year back and doctor advised him to take warfarin depending upon the INR test. but some other doctor advised that more than 5 mg of dose should not be taken. however he is on 5mg warfarin but his INR test always show INR between 1.5 to 1.8 only. i am worried because different doc have different opinion. can somebody help me???????????

I'm a jazz singer/performer for 27 years, I'm 40 something with a professionally trained and powerful voice my entire life. In the last few months my voice has been failing and I've completely refrained from singing because of it. I can barely talk anymore. I've been to the doctor with no success. I've been tested for allergies which was negative but used the medication anyways with no results. He then said that I might have stomach acid problems but I've been through all of the medicines and sleeping upright and all of that stuff to no avail. I've never had any acid indigestion either. They've also checked for the legendary "nodes" but there's nothing except my inflamed vocal chords.

Any ideas out there???

I'm looking for people who use 'adaptive clothing' who are interested in helping with a thesis project. The thesis relates to people (or caregivers of people) with limited mobility, including but not limited to: spinal cord injuries, amputees, etc...

The difficulty getting in and out of clothes sometimes makes it neccesary to use special adaptive clothing. This clothing is designed to be more utilitarian than fashionable. The thesis is centered around making a fashionable line of clothing that is accessable to everyone.

If you are interested in helping with this project, or know anyone who is, please email me. Thanks.

About 2 weeks ago I happened to be rubbing at my back...about where my bra starp goes. I noticed a lump off to the left side of my spine. It has not went away. It is just to the left of my spine..right next to it. It is bigger than a marble, smaller than a superball and soft. It is tender and sore if too much pressure is applied to it, or if I curve my back and lean against something. Otherwise, I guess it doesn't hurt. I have had back pain for so many years, I am used to it. I don't know how long this has been there either..I just happened to notice it about 2 weeks ago, but I do not normally feel that part of my back, so it could have been there longer. I don't have insurance and my family is currantly on a very tight budget. Does anyone know what this might be? Should I see a chiropractor? There is a clinic here for uninsured people...should I go there and see a physician instead? Again..money is tight and I can't afford to just go here and there for tons of tests.

My daughter had pyloric stenosis when she was 10 weeks old. Symptoms began at 2 weeks. She went 8 weeks before I finally took her to the ER. I took her to the doctor 3, even 4 X's a week because of projectile vomiting, no bowel movements & diapers were barely wet. The last visit to the doctor before going to the ER (which was a friday) he told me give her diluted apple juice & that would help her have a bowel movement & to call him on Tuesday. The surgeons at Childrens Hospital told me that Sunday would have been too late. 2 1/2 days later she was strong enough to have the pylorotomy. My daughter is now 13 years old but has learning disabilities in school. At home she doesn't listen, cusses @ dad & throws MAJOR tantrems. I'm not talking about the 'normal' unruliness of a teenager. Could this be caused from being malnurouished at a very critical developmental stage of life? Anyone ever heard of this condition causing problems later in life?

A friend of mine who is a 57 year old male had one of his hands turn purple and swell. It comes and goes. Any idea what could cause this. He went to a doctor and the doc said he had never seen it before and to put his hand in the air when it happened.
