I have just had an operation to try and restore the use of my bowels. I was told I would be out of hospital after 6 days. Six days on and I have severe abdominal pain. It increases when I try to move and leaves me shaking. My stomach is severely swollen. I want to open my bowels and though I feel as though my whole abdomen is ready to burst open, I can only pass wind and mucous. I am nauseous and have been sick a number of times. I am fitted with a bile bag and the doctors have drained a jug of bile off me. It is dark green / black in colour. I can't sit up or stand as I feel dizzy. My blood pressure is low. My tongue is yellow and cracked. I am burning up and can't quench my thirst. I am desperate for ice in my mouth. I sleep most of the time and when I converse, I don't really talk sense. The doctors can't understand why the operation has not worked and say I should not be in such pain so long after the operation. X-rays have not provided an explanation. What is wrong with me?

My dad feet are swollen and they really hurt him. This has been happening since yesterday. He walks with a limp and find it difficult to even put his shoes on (and take them off). I think it hurts while he drives as well which could be a problem as he drives to work.
My mum says its something to do with his Uric acid or something but Im not sure. He constantly checks his blood pressure...I think its a little above normal.
His cholestrol is a little high too. He's been prescribes medecines n all but I wanna know if there's anything else I can do, something to make him feel better....like some remedies or oils or something.....................
Please help...........

Just curious if others research their condition for options or if they do whatever their doctor says without question.

Since having a medical condition, I've learned that I get better care because I research about my condition and can discuss what I've found with my doctor.

Wife been suffering from Fibromyalgia for past 4 years. None of the meds docs have tried help - only make her feel worse. Wife feels "crappy" every day, muscle aches all over mostly every day, and feels tired and worn out daily, even though she gets sufficent sleep at night. Does anyone know of anything that really works to help with Fibromyalgia other than the meds that docs try to use to help with the problem? Warm water makes wife feel better while she's in the bath or at warm water exercise classes, but as soon as she gets out, she feels lousy and sore again. Anyone tried something that really works to help counter the effects of Fibromyalgia?

Over the past month I have had on & off abdominal swelling. It started in the upper-left portion of my abdomen with occasional burning. Now it has moved to the center of my abdomen, where it feels like someone has punched that spot really hard. It is very tender, swollen, and hurts if I touch it. The pain gets worse after eating. I've also had:

Weight gain
Irritability
Heartburn
Absent menstrual period
Vomiting
Excessive fatigue
Excessive gas and belching
Diarrhea

Any ideas?

I'm taking amoxicillin for stret throat, and i've been taking it for about six days. Since the first day, i've had an upset stoumach, loss of appetite (food just doesnt go down right)..and i pretty much just feel like ****.
The doctor said if i stop taking it, the sore throat will come back.

Should i just finish it up and deal with the side effects or tell a doctor?

My boyfriend is a Marine on deployment overseas. He said he's been breaking out on his face, arms, and back with bumps that look like little mosquito bites. He also says he thinks he is losing hair. What could possibly be going on?

Is vomiting a symptom of IBS? I haven't been diagnosed with IBS, but I suspect I have it. Within the last month and a half, I've vomited due to bloating/constipation and then felt better. Any thoughts?

I had it put in two days ago. Immediately after I had intense pain after swallowing that radiated from my chest to throat. Yesterday, and today the pain is milder but I still feel it when I swallow, especially solid food. The technician said this is a complaint people have and just try to eat food to force it out. Anyone relate?

Before i begin this question, i'd like to say that i no anyones else knows what really happens after you die, but it is still fun to wonder.
Alright so here's the deal, i believe there is a "god" or a higher being and that the basic requirement is to be good and treat others the way you would like to be treated. What i don't seem to understand is how anyone could believe that "God" would sentence a person to hell if you didn't believe in him or believe Jesus Christ was your savior. I've talked to many christains that believe that and offended them with my opinions which i am about to say.
+/- 2.4 billion people on earth are Christians....that's alot, i agree, but compared to the +/- 4.2 billion non christains, 2.4 is a very small amount. So in theory when those 4.2 billion people die they will all go to hell even if they did right and lived honorably. Many religions are in conflict with each other due to the fact that they say the opposite of what another states.
