My boyfriend has been feeling sluggish lately, so he went in and found out he has mono. I have a slightly scratchy throat, I had a bad headache the other day, and just plain out haven't been feeling well. What do you think I should do?

I have been to 4 different specialists and they all say the same thing. This number with a bad cholesterol of 60 and no HBP has never been recorded. They change my medications, but to no avail. I am seeking more information or where I can go. Most tests are in accurate with this high of a count except the triglyceride count is supposed to be accurate. I started at 1100 and have just gone up and up for 4 years.

Hypothyroid wiry crinkly hair: what component is it missing and...?
is it reversible? I want to know what component is the hair missing that causes it to crinkle up? I have been experimenting with many conditioners and treatments but none seem to help the hair that has already been affected. Is this even reversible or is that hair permanently damaged? Is there anything I can take or rub on my scalp to prevent more hair from crinkling up? My hair used to be straight and soft, now it's crinkly on the crown of my head.

i have some mysterious joint pains for the last 4 years. they often affect my meta tarsals (foot bones), neck , and wrist bones. in addition , my knees and other joints can be involved. i have a lot of fatigue with these. the joints do not swell though. my blood tests are negative, except that once my CRP was high at 27. The rheumatologist cannot diagnose it and i am not on any treatment. meanwhile i am suffering a lot. i am due to meet my rheumatologist next week and am wondering if there is something called a steroid trial that i can request or something like that.

I was taking 1500 mg of Slo-Niacin a day on the advice of my nurse practitioner for cholesterol. Due to a rash, I reduced ithe time-released niacin to 1000 mg. After a month of that dosage, I stopped it, due to rash and skin tingling like pin pricks. I can't take Lipitor or Lescol XL due to extreme effects, like a bad case of flu & muscle achiness & dizziness, etc. I take fish oil capsules daily, and I have 1/4 cup flax seeds, which I grind and put into water with Crystal Light. I have cut out margarine and butter for the most part. I exercise pretty regularly. But I still have bad cholesterol numbers. I was hoping that niacin would help. But I am now off niacin completely. Is it bad for me, like the cholesterol RX's were?

I was watching some kind of documentary last night that was talking about how in the early 1800's it was called consumption and later to be named tuberculosis. They did not mention if a cure for it had been found. I'm just curious because I know that nowadays people are still being tested for it. What happens if they come up positive?

Over 5 years ago I found out I had emphasema and gave up smoking (Pack of 25 a day for over 25 years). I've had depression problems all my life, and my doctor put me on anti-depressants. At the same time I retired. Any resemblence of a libido has disappeared with the drugs. I've since gained about 55 lbs and now he is harping on my loosing weight. Just curious if any one else has had problems with weight while on anti-depressants. Any thoughts on the subject will be appreciated-Thanks-

I have been taking pronotix for five weeks now for acid reflux. It worked great until the other day. Now I have a upset stomach again (but not as bad as before). I started with prilosec but that didn't work until I went to pronotix.
I ate something I should not have the other day and have been having problems ever since. Has anyone had this problem? Will it start to work again?

She has recently found out that she has spots on her retina, but the doctor says it is congential and wouldn't effect our unborn child...the Dr. is also having a titer check to she if she has antibodies for the protozoa, but if she has antibodies, why would it be able to effect her vision? Very concerned for my wife and unborn child!

I'm bleeding out both eyeballs, my urine is the color and consistency of ketchup, my tongue is sloughing off little green flecks, my poop is shaped like cubes, I have had a nonstop migraine since President Bush's second inaugural and my eyehockey is a disturbing shade of magenta. What could be wrong?
