my friend has had a surgery and doctors told him his got low sats and atelectasis, they've put him on 60% oxygen via a venturi mask and his oxygean saturation is still about 93%! y is he on 60% not less and how is it helping him??

Anybody here ever had a gallstone?
i know someone who has one and i am very worried for her, are they dangerous if not removed soon, the doctors told her that she has had this for some time but it has never bothered her, but now she has inflammation in some of her organs and is taking antibiotics for it, is this because of the gallstone or is this a coinsidence?

I fell down and injured my knee region. After going for tests i was told that there is a 1.5 cm clot under my patella. I am in a foreign country and have problems communicating. I was told to go for physiotherapy? Will that help? What are my other options?

hey, getting cystoscopy done on friday has anyone had this done? also anyone any ideas what they testing for as doctor wont tell me? have had prolonged blood in urine nearly for 3 years. plus abdominal area is completely swollen up.

I take Synthroid for hypothyroidism, and have a bad cold (cough, runny nose, etc). Every cold medicine I look at says not to take if you have thyroid disease. Does anyone know a cold medicine that is OK to take? (That doesn't interfere with the thyroid medication?) The only one I saw so far was NyQuil tablets.

does anyone know why someone would get a swollen tongue. earlier this year while on holday my father woke up with a swollen tongue and was quite panicked as it was hard for him to breathe. we all assumed it could have been down to some foreign food he had ate but it has since happened a few more times. He has been to see a doctor but they have said he will need to see a specialist which he is waiting for. As my mother is away visiting family I stayed at my parents house last night to keep him company and it happened again this morning, its quite scary because obviously he cant shout for help wheh this happens, any ideas what could be causing this????

I've been seeing a doctor, but this has me puzzled. Started with numbness in face, tongue, pins in needles in portion of tongue, fingers, and bottoms of feet. Now heaviness in legs, pain in mid right back, headaches, and have been getting little sore throats. I sound like a nut, because none of this really seems to have anything to do with the other, but wonder if anyone has had similar experiences and what the diagnosis was? I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis... not sure these symptoms have anything to do with that though. Sigh.

I woke up one morning having a bump on my right side of my forehead.Its like it was swollen.I have had ringing in the ear for a week.I have painful sores all over my arm.I woke up one morning finding a patch of my hair gone.I have a bald spot near the bump of my head.I am a 17 year old female.I dont have anergy anymore.And sometimes half of my face would get really stiff.

I had been ill for 4 months now. I have seen consultants and they do not seem to know what it is at the moment. I get bad abdominal pain, a mix of diarrhea and constipation. I also pass mucas with blood through my anus. What could this be? Crohns disease and ucurlative colitis has been ruled out as well as viruses.

Every so often as I pass by the boiler, it will smell REALLY bad, and it's almost like it's spitting "soot" or something out- I'm going to call the repairman, obviously, but should I be worried about Carbon Monoxide also?

Tell me what exactly is wrong with me, and how I can fix myself.
Okay I'm 16 years old with these problems
I get colds more often than most people (Doctor said due to allergies)
I have a mild cough 24/7 365 days a year.
I have diahiria pretty often.
I'm always lazy, but I have trouble sleepin
I have plenty of allergies (Will I outgrow them?)
I have acne, and back acne (more like pimples, but everywhere)

I want purge my body of whatever is causing this. Anything I can add to my diet?

Any suggestions at all?

My wife has the problem of passing stools for almost a year now and the problem seems to be compounding. At one point she went for three weeks and only passed a very small stool although she eats as normal as anyone. Now she feels the pressure in the stomach building up. She has tried laxatives but they seem not to work. Please help

I feel so bad all the time.. I have been checked by doctors and nurses and told nothing wrong except post tramatic stress.. I am being treated with meds and therapy but worry about heart attack and stroke to the point it makes me sick and i question everything that i feel. I don't want to live like this. I want to be my old self .I try everyday so very hard and feel like crap no matter what.We moved to a place at sea level to place that is almost 9000 ft ..its very cold here and the weather makes me feel weird sometimes like being sweaty when its cold.. been told by the locals thats normal.I have no symptoms of anything bad..but just generally feel bad and not right.I want to get over this and its so hard.I just am having issues with it.I worry all the time.Im older now so its hard not too.But was told tonight that I shoudnt worry that Im still younger than others with more severe problems.. I want to get on with my life any suggestions to stop worrying

My sis told me one day about this disease. Description: some people sleep and from 5 to 10 seconds, they stop breathing. This happens a lot and some people can have 1/3 of their sleep not breathing. But when I say this, it doesn't mean not breathing entirely for 1 to 5 minutes. It goes by seconds.

If I described well enough, can you please tell me the name of this disease. I think it starts with an H or something like HYPO______.

About a month ago I accidentally swallowed a cough drop whole. And on December 9, this past year, I vomited and since them I have been burping much more frequently, and there has been a couple more close-to-vomiting incidents since then, My mother thinks it might be Acid reflux, but I'm beginning to wonder if it might be the result of a blockage. Any ideas?

My throat has been feeling kind of hot/burning but not really any pain for 2 days now but it doesn't hurt to swallow or eat or talk or anything. In fact it feels better when i'm eating. What do you think I have and what should I do to cure it? when I take cold relief pills it makes it feel better, but it's a pain to take 2 pills every few hours. I just want to make sure I don't have anything serious.

On 27 dec.06 at around 0930 approx - had asked the question in as to why was passing black stool and within a matter of minutes had some answers, then I knew it was a serious situation and did get serious because I started vomitting blood , was admitted in Hospital that same night and was diagonised as ULCER IN DUEDONYM in critical stage, had to have my stomach washed and was in ICU for three days. Have just got back home. Thank YOU ALL ONCE AGAIN. Thanks to Yahoo. I thought the black stool was just the dry fruits in the chistmas cake. ahahahh. Love to all.
