I have Graves Disease, which is a more severe thyroid disorder; nonetheless, I still have horrible dry skin...so much so that the heels of my feet actually snag my panty hose when I put them on. I also have have deep cracked skin on my lower shins. What I have found to be helpful is Eucerin and also shea butter. But it must be applied a few times a day...right after a shower is a good time. I hope that you are on medication for hyperthyroid.... if you are, it should stop this from happening. I have it as well and this symptom stopped once I took my medication regularly.

A friend of mine has this and she uses soaps and lotions made for babies with eczema and it seems to help with the itching.
