Cold is Coryza. Untreated cold will last for one week but if you treat it will last only for 7 days.

There is no treatment for any Virus infection. As virus enter our body through air - especially get embedded in the mucosal line of throat, the body defense mechanisam try to sneeze and throw the foreing body out. Then slowly the excess secretion of water will help wash the foreign substance. But the mucus being wil get thickened as it comes in contact with air. The running of nose then become stuffy nose, causing less intake of oxygen. Slowly head ache develop along with fever. This the process of cold. The best approach is the symptomatic treatment. Steam inhalation, Nasal decongestion, Throat swabs of Lozenges etc along with other medications will help you control its severity. try that.

Sleep with a humidifier, greatest cure for a cold. Oil of oregano will kill the cold in about 3 days. Try taking large quanties of vitamin C like 8-10 pills. Don't drink Orange juice though its bad for your throat. If you can't do any of that take a hot shower and let the steam do its work on your body.

These symptoms COULD ALSO be an allergy. Just wait it out for another week or so and if symptoms continue, try to remember if there is anything NEW that has come into your home or new that you are using or eating, etc and then check with an allergist.

Since every cold is different and affects everyone differently, no one can give you an accurate answer or even an estimate, though I hope you feel better SOON!

Are you sure this isn't allergies? usually long term colds are allergies in disguise. Your doctor should be able to tell you.
