Drink hot tea with honey & lemon. I also gargle with Listerine when I feel a sore throat coming on. Also gargling with warm salt water helps.

Warm (not hot!!) tea may help soothe, and literally rest your throat. Any part of the human body will heal better with proper rest. If it doesn't clear up or at least get significantly better after a few days, go see a doctor. It's possible it could be your tonsils or strep throat that will need treatment. If you're in a lot of pain, don't wait. It's not worth it, trust me.
Could be, too, that sinus drainage is making your throat raw. Try taking something that's specifically made to dry up the sinus passages if you think that may be the problem. But like I said, if it doesn't start getting better or suddenly takes a sharp turn for the worse, please get to a doctor or clinic. Hope you get to feeling your old self in no time!!

TIPS.-

-for the rest try getting antibiotics
-you just have to take care of yourself

Before going to bed, be sure to gargle lukewarm water with salt. Also, if you can stand this style of drinking a small can of tomato sauce, do this before going to bed because you already lack Vitamin C. May this style of mine works with you.
Have a HEALTHY AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

Try to gargel with salt water - yuck, I know but it works. Suck on a cough drop, too. If it gets worse, go to the doc...
