I've been taking it once a day for like 4-5 years now and when I don't drink it I just don't go to the restroom the next day. Is it because my body got addicted to it?! OMG!

No addiction possible. This is not a drug, it is soluble fiber plain and simple pimple. The reason you don't go after not taking it is because you are not getting other sources of fiber in your diet. You can get soluble fiber from oat bran, apples, pears, oranges, pecin and many other sources. Also important is insoluble fibers like wheat, or bran. Taking Metamucil is a good thing, I take 3 servings daily for 7 grams soluble fiber to help control cholesterol. So drink away, and relax you are doing your gut a tremendous favor.

I don't think your body can get addicted to Metamucil, because its just fiber. You can get the same effect by drinking a lot of water and eating raisin bran

Any long term use can be addictive either psychological or physical in nature.
