My wife has the problem of passing stools for almost a year now and the problem seems to be compounding. At one point she went for three weeks and only passed a very small stool although she eats as normal as anyone. Now she feels the pressure in the stomach building up. She has tried laxatives but they seem not to work. Please help

She could have an obstruction in the bowels. Has she seen a doctor for this? This could be life threatening! I suggest she get to a doctor as soon as possible. In the meantime, I might have a solution. After being on narcotics for 20 months, my bowels got completely messed up. I was used to having at least 1 bowel movement a day, sometimes 2. Then, my stomach started feeling so bloated, I couldn't stand it. It seemed like I was passing gas alright, it was just that I was all stopped up. So, my doctor recommended the following and it helped me 100%. I now have my same old bm's back. Try taking Senokot-S - 4 tablets twice a day and Dulcolax - 3 tablets a day. These 2 types of laxatives/stool softeners combined really work! Best of luck to her!

A person needs to pass stools every day first thing in the morning. This is regular bowel movement. Anything that is afar from this is dangerous to the body as it increases toxins and leads to several dangerous diseases.

Drink at least 12 glasses of water throughout the day. In the morning, after you brush your teeth, drink a glass of warm water and rub your stomach with your palm in a clockwise direction in a standing position. Try this every morning for a proper bowel movement to set in.

Eat only fruits for 2 meals - breakfast and dinner. The best of all is papaya - a natural laxative. Eat fruits to your full and do not combine fruits and cooked food. Since fruits cleanse the system, this won't tax your body any further. Include fibre rich food in your diet.
Have plenty of fibre-rich vegetables like beans, spinach in your diet. Avoid food made of refined flour like pasta, pizza, burgers, bread etc. Remember any food that sticks to your teeth, would stick to your digestive track too.
Avoid eating when you do not feel hungry. Exercise a lot.

This poor woman must be ready to explode, She can damage herself internally, by a hernia in the colon. The stool can actually back up into the stomach and, she'll puke stool. This happens in young adults, girls especially, in the preteen to the early teens. They have to give her an enema and clean her out.
They'll have to give her something to take, until she can regulate herself. I would get her to a doctor now. If she hasn't gone in four or five days, get her in now before she ruptures her colon. Unless she wants to wear a bag for life, then she won't have to worry.

Your wife may want to try an over-the-counter stool softener. If that doesn't produce a bowel movement in 24 hours, then I suggest she go to the local ER. While uncommon, there ARE conditions that would cause impaction or other types of blockage, and could potentially be very serious.

Typically people in general have about 3 days worth of stool in their stomach, but it sounds like your wife is has more. If she does not go more regular she could get a bowl obstruction, which is very painful, she will keep all of those nasty toxins in her system too. Try a stool softener like senacott which draw water to the intestines. Prunes really do help, but if you can not stand the taste they have them in capsule form at walmart. If she goes a few more days with out going she needs to go to the Dr., maybe she has a low thyroid or some other underlining problem.

I would suggest a doctor, NOW!! she could have a bowel obstruction , if a bowel obstruction ruptures it can cause peritonitis, septicimia (blood poisoning).
