About a month ago I accidentally swallowed a cough drop whole. And on December 9, this past year, I vomited and since them I have been burping much more frequently, and there has been a couple more close-to-vomiting incidents since then, My mother thinks it might be Acid reflux, but I'm beginning to wonder if it might be the result of a blockage. Any ideas?

It sounds like what I have... acid reflux. I agree with your mom.

You really should go see a doctor...acid reflux or not. If it's not, there could still be something wrong. If it is acid reflex you should take medicine for it.

"Acid reflux disease is often a chronic condition that can lead to serious complications over time. And since acid reflux disease affects different people in different ways it's important to talk to your doctor. Only your doctor can diagnose acid reflux disease and determine if there is any damage to your esophagus."

my acid reflux started with me gagging and vomiting food shortly after I ate it. it wouldn't happen all the time but it turned out i had an inflammed esophagus resulting from the acid. so your Mom could very well be right but there is no way to know without asking a doctor. they would probably do something called a upper GI fleuroscopy which is basically just a fancy x-ray. that might shine some light on whats going on down there and it would probably show any blockage as well.

The cough drop has nothing to do with your present symptoms. Dietary changes, eating too fast, eating gas-producing foods can all result in excessive burping. I suggest you look elsewhere for the cause of your eructation.
