It's possible to treat snoring through lifestyle modifications such as losing weight, quitting smoking, changing sleep habits, and avoiding alcohol and sedatives before you go to bed. If snoring is due to nasal congestion, nasal strips, decongestants, or nasal corticosteroid sprays may be used. If these modifications do not improve the snoring, then it is time to see a doctor.

This needs to be checked out by the doctor to rule out a medical cause. Once the doc has ruled out a medical cause of the snoring the doc will make suggestions on what to do for it. Seeing the doc though is very important as snoring is a common symptom of something more serious like sleep apnea or sinus problems.

Omgness - I understand your pain!! Suffocation would be tempting but...
Seriously, 2 things:
tape it and play it back to him so he realizes what it feels like for you. This will hopefully push him to take the next step;
Get him to make sure he has a good sleeping environment. Checklist:
1. no TV in the bedroom
2. a properly fluffed up pillow
3. heated oils like olbas oil to help unblock nasal passages
4. not too much mental stimulation before going to bed. Let the last thought be a calming one.
the idea is that this would help his sleep to be calm and peaceful, that he'll stay in a sleeping position that doesn't obstruct his breathing passage, without tossing and turning and coiling himself up!
oh, and he should have regular exercise if he needs it!
Hope something here helps, ciao!

those breathe right strips really do work, but it could be a sign of something more involved as was stated earlier.
