Contact your local health authority or social services, they should be able to advise you about, or provide for you, a respite carer to help out until you are well again - you shouldn't have to cope on your own. Do you have any close friends or family who could help in the meantime?

Good luck with it, I hope you feel better soon. I have huge respect for what you do for your mum.

I'm not sure where you are located but if you live within the united states you should speak to the National MS Society. There website is www.nmss.org if you go there you can find a location near you and they may be able to set you up with their loan closet program. They loan out different equipment and they may be able to help you find a scooter to borrow.

Is there anyone else who could accompany you on the trip to assist with pushing your mother's wheelchair? You say you're going to visit a cousin...would a family member be around to help?
