I get this THING about 3 maybe 4 times a year where I feel like I have the flu-all my joints and muscles get very achy and sore but no fever. I have been to a rheumatologist and she found nothing like lupus but I just had a dose of it last night again and today when I woke up, I feel better, it is not as bad.

My skin also gets sore to the touch in just some spots like my arms or tops of my legs

First off for those who think Fibromyalgia is not a real condition please do some research, as Fibromyalgia is real and is under the umbrella of arthritis, that is it is recognised by the Arthritis Foundation. See below links.

Hi Pesty Wadoo

Fibromyalgia can be constant, but it can also wax and wane, can be dependent on the weather, stress and type of work you do.

I find that if is too hot, to cold or if the weather has a rapid change my pain levels are of the wall. I also find that if I don't sleep due to pain, that the pain will increase, thus creating a vicious circle, less sleep more pain, more pain less sleep, you know the pattern.

Avoiding stress and long days can help, and rest when you can. Also avoid or limit coffee, and those who have the flu etc, as flu's etc may bring you down rather quickly.

Eat a healthy diet, drink plenty of water. And when feeling rather ordinary limit your work load for the day. If sleep is a problem due to pain, then try a warm bath, a pain killer, and massage helps, and use sleeping tablets, if you have missed more then 2-3 days sleep.

Hope this helps and good luck

I've actually heard that it's one of those fake diseases that chiropractors make up so they can bilk your insurance company. Kind of like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or Multiple Sclerosis! I'd go to a real doctor instead of a quack like a chiropractor or a rheumatologist. Good luck!

that doesnt sound like fibromyalgia. you'd get it more then 3 times a yr.and its a muscle, tendon, ligament condition. all those areas swell and hurt. its not in the joint at all.
