Is it the bit of bone dividing the inside of your nose into two?

Your septum is the bit of cartilage that divides your nose. It's what's pierced in a septum piercing - as opposed to a nose piercing. Internal isn't really a word that goes with it.

The septum separates your nostrils. It contains both bone and cartilege.

Very sore if you break it (believe me!)
