if you say, put peroxide directly on your teeth with a cotton swab, and then rinse, will your teeth get a bit whiter in a not-too-bad-for-you way?

Any advice?

I had my wisdom teeth removed yesterday morning, and I followed all of the instructions the surgeon gave me. Expect in the booklet it said, don't sleep with gauze pads. I grind my teeth when I sleep so to avoid dislodging the blood clot I slept with gauze pads... could this do any harm? I cleaned my mouth gently by brushing and salt/water mix, and took some antibiotics prescribed.

I have been using Advil Liquigels for about a week and a half to deal with tooth pain. I had been taking 6 a day (recommended max on bottle) but then day before yesterday I took 8, and then yesterday I took a total of 10. I have been prescribed 9 Advil a day before, so I didn't think this was any big deal.

Each liquigel is 200 milligrams, and from what I've found online, the maximum daily *prescription* dosage of Advil is 3200 milligrams, meaning a total of 16 Advil max in a 24 hour period. Can anyone confirm that I have this right?

I had a root canal today and have taken a total of 12. I feel ok, just very tired, but I am almost positive this is due to lack of sleep and a difficult day from the root canal, and it being late.
But, I just wanted to see if anyone knew for sure that the amt. of Advil I've taken is ok. I want to go to sleep but now I'm paranoid. I'm a big person if that makes any difference.
Thank you!

Dr. checked yesterday, said looked good. I've been taking Motrin 600. At first it worked well, but now it's almost as if I am building up a tolerance or something? Took one 1 1/2 hours ago, and still throbbing pain. Help!

My mom told me they hurt like hell, but when I looked it up on the internet, it said they don't most of the time. Now, I'm confused. Could anybody whose actually had a root canal tell me what it felt like during and after?

My mother has something wrong with her teeth. They just get worse and worse. I have a few minor issues which I will get taken care as soon as my dental benefits kick in. My question is, is there some sort of tooth-decay-gene that is hereditary?

I was diagnosed with gingivitis today, and I have gotten very serious about my teeth... I bought some alcohol free crest pro-health, 3 things of wax, and a new Colgate 360 toothbrush.

If I floss/brush/gargle twice daily, how long until I am "healed" of my gingivitis? Could I do anything more to help it along?

I am a 27 year old female who has one semester left in college before getting my B.S. in Zoology. Unfortuantely university doesn't provide dental care and I have had an absess for 3 years now. I have developed chronic headaches, fatigue, dizziness, loss of appetite and neck pain, and blurry vision for a few months now. I guess I am going to die because no one will help. I have faith in God that He wouldn't want me to die and if there is anyone out there who cares enough to even say a prayer for me please do, because I don't have a family that cares to help me with prayer or the expense. So please pray that if I die my son will be close to God always and not feel alone like I do right now.

I'm only 25 years old, but if you examined my teeth you wouldn't know that. I was bulimic for six years of my life when I was in the military and in college. That was two years ago. I am well now. I'm older and more mature and working in what I studied in college, which was business. Because of my past mistakes I spend every dime and all my time now in a dental chair as a patient. I've grown to want to know more, not just for myself but to help others like myself. Especially help others who can't afford the dental work. Because I can't even afford the dental work- I take it day by day. Anyhow this life experience has changed my heart and my passion in my career and I've felt a desire to shift my life to become a dentist. This decision is very personal. Only one person in my family knows about my past situation with bulimia. I don't plan on telling this until I become a dentist. If you are as dentist, can you give me some guidance on how or where to begin my process?

i just spent alot of money to get my teeth whitened (a christmas gift to myself as a reward for giving up smoking!!) and want to keep my teeth as white as they are now. if i got a whitening toothpaste would that be too much bleach? i dont want to make my teeth super sensitive but i also have trouble giving up coffee which isnt great for teeth..i was just wondering if whitening toothpaste is ok to use after bleaching or if that is overkill and could cause some damage..thanks

I have a crossbite in three places I guess and my options are to have surgery or to wear the expander thing which spreads my upper jaw and creates a gap between my two front teeth. Neither sound great. Has anyone had either? I also have a very low tolerance of pain and am terrified of the dentist. They screwed up my last appointment and tried to put in the expander when they were only supposed to put in the spacers and the expander hurt like hell. Is there any possible way that Invisaline could work sense I'm so sensitive? Any help would be really appreciated. And if you know of any websites with pictures of before and after surgery would be nice. Also as much information about both things as you know.
