I get canker sores all the time. The key is preventing them. Keep your teeth really clean. Include flossing in your daily routine. Make sure you rinse with water or with salt water after you eat anything acidic like oj, or tomatoes. I can't eat oranges or oj at all by the way. You might want to swish with salt water daily. You can get over the counter medications from the pharmacy.

Your mouth ulcers are viral in nature. It is impossible to predict when you will stop getting outbreaks, if ever. So, all you can do is treat them as them appear.

There is a great product called Zylactin-B. It is an ointment. Dry the ulcer with a clean piece of gauze or a Q-Tip. While it is still dry, place a THIN layer of the Zylactin on the ulcer. Continue to keep the area dry until the ointment sets a little. When it finally comes in contact with your saliva, it will appear as a little rubbery patch. This will protect the lesion from the pain of salt and acidic foods. Zylactin-B contains benzocaine that gently freezes the ulcer to give you instant pain relief. The dressing can be changed 3-4 times per day.

These kind of ulcers can develop when we are really run down, under a lot of stress, eating poorly, not getting enough sleep, etc. Just so you know.
