My husband is 24 years old. He has an extra tooth between his front tooth and his canine. He went to the dentist when he was ateen and they took an xray. Said it was a crooked root and it would be a pretty big gap for awhile if they could even pull it. So he did not do it b/c he did not want the gap. Now we are married and he has been wanting to get it pulled. His teeth are not in great shape b/c he did not get dental care as a child. He does not want to do it if he has to have a gap for awhile as he works in customer service.
The other problem is money-He wants to just have surgery on his teeth and get them all fixed(most of them are crooked and the front two are too long) We have no dental insurance and when I call the dentist to askl them about it the all say"well we hjave to do a consultation that would be 125.00 then an xray for 80 bucks and then we will tell you. Is there anything else we can do or am I missing something? anyone know how expensive dental surgery is. thanks

I got the athletic works sports mouth guard for Walmart, but I fit it to my bottom teeth (so it would stay in better during the night-I thought) and it made my headaches worse and really bad. I don't know what to do- I need something that stays in my mouth at night. I have to stop the headaches and I get tooth sensitivity too. My problem is if their is something in my mouth then I chew on it more and can't fall asleep. If the over-the-counter mouth guard make my headaches worse, I am afraid the dentist made ones are just going to do the same thing- Or do those "click" into place?

Regular toothpaste has fluoride and sodium laurel sulfate in it and I'd rather avoid these toxins.

50 reasons to avoid fluoride---> http://fluoridealert.org/50-reasons.htm

So, will baking soda used everyday cause any damage to my teeth like wear away the enamel. Please post a link so I can double check if you can.

Thanks.

Long story short: I had 4 wisdom teeth pulled, and it was the worst experience of my life. Ended up with 2 dry sockets and had the sockets packed with no local. OWW! When I had the packing removed yesterday, the surgeon was in the room for a total of 2 minutes, and said that all was ok. When I rinsed with salt water today, a suture came out. Now I have a black hole behind my lower molar, and have the same immense pain coming from that socket as I did when I first had my dry sockets. After a couple of days with no pain, I am completely depressed to go back to this. I am taking tylenol and hydrocodone, which only takes the edge off the pain. For anyone who has experience with this: Is this pain bc my sockets are open again? Is there anything I can do about it, or do I just have to wait it out? Should I be washing this hole out after I eat? And how/with what? Or will simply washing my mouth with salt water take care of this? And how long does something like this normally take to heal?

Half my face, i guess is more "sculpted" than the other side.
Like it has a jaw line, but the other side doesn't.
What caused this?
I have no idea if I was born with this.
Is this normal?

OK so i got a little messed up and thought that some vamp teeth i had bought online would look great if they were permanent. So i super glued them to my teeth.

What i want to know is if this is harmful to my real teeth. they only cover my canine. teeth.

here's a link to the teeth.

http://www.vampfangs.com/Scarecrow-Subtle-Small-Fangs-p/sksm.htm

If they are not harmful i would like to keep them surprisingly they look really good. and are uber comfortable. i don't have any problems eating or sleeping with them in.

and if harmful plz list what will happen i would actually like to know. = )

thanxs. and yes i have decided to get better friends who dont let you glue crap to your teeth when messed up.

My teeth have become uncontrolably bad, and it's time to do some major dental work.

Before I go in, I'd like to know if I even have a shot at saving any or if it's even worth it.

The surgeon performing the task of getting them out of my mouth (the left molar in the jawbone) failed to remove it after FOUR painful hours of struggle. He put something with eugenol on the wound and left the DEAD tooth in its place, put some stiches and told me to wait at least three weeks before attempting the surgery again. I am not sure he knows what he's doing, and I need a second opinion from a professional dentist.
What's gonna happen with me? Should i leave the molar on its place for good or should I schedule another surgery (with other surgeon, of course) in three weeks?
As for now, the pain is UNBEARABLE and I wanna be numb. Please help me! I need answers. please.

I have an abscessed wisdom tooth and wont be able to afford to get it pulled for at least a month. I have about a weeks worth of antibiotics (penicillin 500mg) under direction to take them every six hours. I went to a free clinic and I wasn't told much about my situation. After some research I have found that this can be a serious problem and that the draining of an abscess and the ingestion of the infection can be fatal. Will the antibiotics protect me? Will the antibiotics remove the infection completely? How would I know if it was draining, what symptoms should I look out for that would indicate such? I'm freaking out here ..

I have a twin brother who has three daughters 4, almost 3, and 1. Now that I have started my dental hygiene program, I am learning how important it is to care for your children's teeth (it helps that while I am working in clinic, I can hear the children screaming from the dentist drilling). Anyway, I don't believe my brother is doing an adequate job managing his daughters oral hygiene. His older daughters refuse to drink tap water so he gives them bottled water (w/o fluoride) and my mom, who babysits for them 4 days a week, said that he doesn't brush their teeth often. How can I tell him that he should do a better job? Or is this none of my business?

He wouldn't talk to me for 6 months when I tolded him his gf was cheating on him....3 kids later his wife left him for another man.

Are braces sufficient? Or is surgery required? If it needs surgery, does that mean they're going to cut my jaw off?

ok so I got all my wisdom teeth extracted yesterday, and last night I noticed there's this white stuff on the lower right site. i thought it was food stuck in there, so I rinsed with warm salt water today and it's still there. It says on the paper that I could brush lightly, and so I did. With my toothbrush I verrrrrrry gently moved the white stuff but it looked like the tip is attached to my gum or something, so I just left it there.

Is that a tissue?

BEFORE YOU SAY YES OR NO... please specify whether or not you had a numbing gel prior to the injection... and how much it helped, or didn't help. All of my siblings say that it completely took the pain away.
