Anything soft (for the first few days) and nutritious. Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, cottage cheese, milkshake, spagettios, scrambled eggs...etc. If it hurts, don't eat it. Also remember to drink plenty of fluids too. One of the most common reasons as to why some do not do well after their surgery is because they are not eating and drinking properly. Best of luck!

Chicken Noodle soup, mashed potatoes, anything soft. You CANNOT drink from a straw because you will get dry sockets. I did not get any dry sockets, thank goodness. But I could not wait until I was able to eat real foods, because I lost like 7 pounds in 2 weeks.

Right after I had them pulled, I ate a lot of natural apple sauce.I also ate mashed potatoes, when they weren't too hot.
I didn't want to eat much, really, because it's difficult to open your mouth very wide the first day. (For me this was really more due to fear of pain rather than pain itself, though.) After a couple days, I could eat pretty much anything aside from things that could get stuck in my teeth, etc.

I remember being told to DRINK - NOT SIPPING (through a straw) Carnation Instant Breakfast. Don't sip through a straw because this can cause pain.
The doctor will give you a list of thing you can and cannot have.

Grits. I asked for grits at the hospital (I was 19 in a military hospital). They showed up with eggs & sausage & toast. I was so hungry I tried mushing it up on the roof of my mouth. Certainly didn't taste as good as it could have that way!
