I've had my braces on for about 10 months (since last October). I've been given rubber bands to wear for a few months now, which I have been doing RELIGOUSLY. During my last visit, they put another "band" on my back molar so that they could move the wire back further. What will this do? And roughly how far into my treatment am I?

This is not me, but someone I know Is going to do this and I think it is ridiculous!! The teeth are going to start falling out in a year anyways, what's the point? And they do not hurt the little girl, so that's not the issue. How many people would do this and why??
Thanks

I had an appointment with my dentist (my aunt) for a root canal and everything was fine until they took x-rays and the first one's didn't come out right so they took another pair of them and when they came back they said i had methamphetamine found all over my teeth
but the thing is i've never done methamphetamine as a matter of fact i've never seen it.
can someone tell me how it got there could it be put in food? and how long does it stay because i brush my teeth 3 times a day everyday. anyone think it was on the gloves?

I had two fillings on both upper sides of my mouth for about six months, and they fell out. I'm not exactly sure when this happened because I did not notice a change in any of my daily oral hygiene routines, but upon asking a friend to check for me, it appears that they have indeed fallen out.

Here are my questions. Do I need to immediately have them refilled? If so, is it likely that I will need any sort of numbing for when the fillings are being replaced? I'm not really worried about getting a shot but I like to be prepared so any help is appreciated. :)

My mom is getting braces.
She's always wanted her teeth to be straight, but it's kind of awkward having a parent get braces.
I'm really glad that she's getting her teeth straight, I don't know when, but it makes me happy if she's happy.

However, it's kind of awkward. You usually don't see 'older people' with braces.
Any opinions on how to deal with it?

"Constructive criticism" please.
No rude comments, she IS my mother and I love her very much.

My cousin has a dog that had plaque on his gum/teeth. It was to the point where the gum was starting to recede, exposing more of the teeth. They got it cleaned and everything but I'm just wondering if the gum will regrow? As in will it go back to the normal. Thanks.

I've been having a pain in the roof of my mouth lately. Just went to the dentist to get routine check up and cleaning, everything was ok. It does not really burn, but hurts, more when I eat than anything. Pain goes away at times, mostly at night. Don't really feel this discomfort until I wake up and start my day. Any ideas. I do have a small case of reflux, but no acid taste, since I've been on nexium.

My sister recently went to the dentist because she had noticed what looked like a small cavity on the biting surface of one of her molars. The dentist did a filling, but apparently the cavity was quite large in the dentine layer even though there was only a small hole in the enamel. He said that although it wasn't that DEEP, it was quite an extensive cavity and that she would probably need a crown on that tooth at some point.

Is that normal? I thought you only needed crowns when you had a root canal done on your tooth. And is it common to only have a tiny hole in the enamel but for the cavity to be quite extensive underneath it?
