Hi! I've been in dentistry for over 25 years and I would not jump into any jaw surgery until you look at other options. The first being to wear an appliance that will open your mouth slightly and relax the muscles that are spasming.
Any jaw surgery is painful and requires to be put to sleep. I would not do that while you are pregnant or nursing. This can wait. Please make an appointment to see an Oral Surgeon you can take special xrays that will help him determine the exact nature and scope of the problem.
Clenching and grinding during the day and at night can cause terrible jaw pain and neck and head aches. You may be able to start off with a simple appliance like a night guard before you consider surgery. All of this needs to be discuss with a hands on Expert that can do an exam and see exactly what is going on. Making guesses here is not fair to you and really doesn't help you to find the absolutely right solution that is perfect for you. Please do this as soon as possible. If you have any other questions, please ask. Marie

No you can't have jaw surgery when you are pregnant.
It sounds like you have TMJ pain. To find out more on TMJ issues got to http://www.oceansurgical.com.au/

HELLO,
THE SYMPTOMS YOU ARE DESCRIBING ARE DUE TO BRUXISM-- OR NIGHT TIME GRINDING. THIS IS MOSTLY DUE TO STRESS.
YOU NEED TO SEE YOUR DENTIST SO THAT AN NTI-SST APPLIANCE CAN BE MADE FOR YOU SO YOU WILL STOP THE BRUXISM.SURGERY FOR THIS IS NOT DONE.
SEE YOUR DENTIST AND HAVE A HEALTHY BABY.

You need to ask your OB/GYN that question to
get a serious answer. Since you are pregnant
I would say no.
