well i know i asked this Q earlier,
but me and my dad were talking,
and we cant afford braces.
and he doesnt want to get
insurance or anything...
so we wanna know if
you can make low monthly
payments.
and how much does
the down payment/deposit or
w/e cost?
cause i heard it was about $1,000
up front and we cant afford that!!
so please inform me
on everything you know about braces.
and do i have to put the down payment/deposit
up front?
please and thanx!
ohh and how long does it take
for me to get the braces?
i heard at the most, 2 weeks.

I went to do the first part of it... which is that he drilled A LOT and then he would stick some file looking things inside( they were different colors... anyway after that he put a temporary filling and i have to go back again in a week. I know he will do more to it to finally put the crown. but is what i went through (the first time) the worst part or is my second visit going to be the worst part?

Since the fee for a discount plan is not technically an insurance premium, does that mean I can use my HSA funds to pay for it? Or is it still considered an HSA unqualified expense?

I have a cross bite (only by back molars touch) but my teeth are straight and I've never had a problem with it other than the fact that my front teeth don't touch, making it a little difficult to eat sometimes. I just started going to a new dentist and he's talking about surgery to correct my cross bite. I have two options:
1. Put braces on my top teeth and use a wrench-like thing to widen my upper jaw....like the jaws of life.
2. They would have to break my upper jaw and widen it.

I know there'ws pro's and con's to both...like: I'm 22 and don't really want braces and my insurance will be up before the process is finished.....but breaking the maxillary bone in my skull doesn't seem too pleasant either....

Any one had either procedure done or information/opinions about either procedure?

My teeth's pretty crooked but not even the money i got from my summer job is enough and my parents will never pay for braces unless its for my lil sister (they cant afford braces for both of us)=[ Anyways, is there anyway i could get my teeth atleast a little straighter without paying all that money?? I would just wait until im older but i often get teased for my crooked teeth and i really cant take it anymore and i dont want to spend my last 2 years of highschool getting teasesd just because of my teeth. Or is braces really the only way to go??

And my bff said they are supposed to use those??? What are some good pastimes when you get them on, and what is the procedure??? Also, what colors should I get??? Well thats all for now?

I am 47 years old and have been seeing the same dentist for the past 25 years. I have never missed any of my 6 months recalls. Now his "new" hygienist told me I have several 8 mm pockets around my teeth. I was referred to a periodontist. I need bone grafting. This dentist never did full mouth probing or a full mouth series of x-rays. This periodontal surgery will cost me thousands of dollars and there is no guarentee that i still won't loose these teeth. How could my gums have gone this bad in 6 months? I believe he failed to diagnose. Do I have a legal case? help...anyone!!

I know I have this disease just by reading up on it and looking inside my mouth. I want to know if my tooth will fall out. I can move it from side to side and back and forth and can see the bottom of the root too. I am deathly afraid of dentists. Have'nt been in 20 years or more. It's my fault I know and I am so so scared to call a dentist. Will this tooth fall out on its own? It is in front next to the "fang". It is so loose I can barely chew without knocking into it. There is always an abcess on the gum above it every day so far. I wish I could just pull it out myself. Can anybody help me?

Ok... I have a big fear of needles. Even as I type this right now I am crying just thinking about it! I (probably) have to get about six more teeth pulled (I have already had six pulled) My wisdom teeth and 2 molars. When I got it done before I was sedated with a needle going into a vain in my arm, I was crying and it really hurt! I just dont think I can do that again! Are there any other ways of sedation? without a needle! Please because I am so scared!!! I dont even know why because I was fine with needles until a year or 2 ago (I am 14). Why am I so scared? What can I do? I know I am a wimp but please dont make fun of me.
