my BFF and I both have braces and they aren't that bad just kind of annoying you get used to them after the first week or so but here are a few pointers from us...
-listen to your orthodontist when he tells you what foods NOT to eat(I learned that the hard way)
-pick your favorite color(s) as elastics *don't get white they turn yellow-ish orange-ish and food gets noticabely stuck on them*
-your baby-teeth will either be pulled (doesn't hurt) or braces will not be placed on them and the orthodontist will wait for them to fall out
-eat ice-cream and pain killers to relieve horid pains
-don't use wax unless a wire comes off (its really pointless) and take the wax off before you eat ANYTHING
- braces aren't really that bad but eat lots of candy while you can and dont stress it
(I have had my braces for a year and a half and my friend for six months)

FIRST OF ALL, BRACES DO NOT HURT!! please don't let anyone tell you they do because they don't. The only thing that even hurts a little bit is when you get them adjusted, like each monthly visit, what i suggest is taking Advil right before you go for your visit, and afterwards if you have pain, there is something called Chloroseptic, its a sore throat spray, but it can also be used for braces (it says for orthodontic use on the label) all you do is spray it on your teeth, and it knocks the pain out almost instantly. You can find this medicine in just about any store.. Definitely make sure your orthodontist knows which teeth are loose before he puts the braces on. As for colors, the 2 don'ts are clear and white rubber bands, they really do show all of the stains from the food you eat...just pick what colors you want you will get to change them many times. Hope all goes well for you!! GOOD LUCK!! :)

Make SURE your orthodontist knows that those molars are baby teeth. Braces won't hurt them, but it brackets or anchors are put on them it will be a hassle to change it when you lose them.
As far as procedure, they will clean your teeth, put a plastic piece in so that your lips stay away from your teeth and use a type of dental cement and a UV light to mount the brackets.
They will also "hammer" the anchors around your molars, one on each side. This allows them to tie off the wire that will run through the brackets.
Next comes the wire. It will run from one anchor, they will pop it into the brackets, and then it will be tied off at the other anchor. Make sure they do this right. It they leave a loose end it will rub against your cheek and start to hurt.
Rubberbands! These will go on the beackets over the wire, securing it into place. You can change your colors every time you see your Ortho, so if you don't like what you have, don't fret over it.

Those molar teeth will probably have to come out anyway when they put your braces on. The never use baby teeth for brackets. The only part that really is uncomfortable is when they put the very back bands on. They have to fit bands on, so there is a lot of shoving and tugging. For the first few days, your teeth will be mondo sore, and you wont want to eat anything. Just stick with softer foods, and take a pain reliever as needed. the procedure takes awhile, but isn't that stressful if you just relax. It's really not a big deal, but sometimes they need to grind your teeth to make things work out. DON'T WORRY! It's not like at the dentist. It doesn't hurt. you can feel it, but it doesn't hurt! They use dental cement to fasten all of the brackets on. that's it. just don't stick your tounge in the cement, it tastes NASTY!!! I don't have colors on right now, because of a special wire, but go with whatever color your bedroom walls are(unless they're white!), or your favorite color.

it is possible to have slight discomfort when they are first put on, and a day or two after adjustments.. When you get braces, your mouth can be sore for a few days.. If you rinse the sores in warm, salt water, they will heal within a week or two. If your mouth is sore during the first week, you can put wax on the braces to prevent the braces from rubbing and irritating your skin.. pain relievers such as Paracetamol, or Ibuprofen can be taken to reduce any pain.. stick to soft and liquid foods, example: fruit smoothies soup mashed potato oatmeal ice-cream porridge applesauce Apple juice milk shakes cooked cereals Scrambled eggs broiled fish yogurt You probably should not eat hard sticky, gooey or crunchy foods. Caramel, taffy, peanut brittle can stick on your braces and pull the braces off your teeth. You also need to be careful with crunchy foods like carrots and apples and hard rolls(unless sliced) so that you do not knock your braces off your teeth.. brush your teeth after every meal because the foods get stuck easily in the braces and remember to floss..they should give you an ortho toothbrush and interdental kit and teach u how to brush the pain is worth the gain.. relax yourself and you will be fine.. Good Luck! =)

your baby teeth will be fine and fall out normally
you'll probably need some advil because it can be tender, but braces don't hurt nearly has badly as spacers
after a few days, you get used to them
listen to music, read, it doesn't matter--it takes like an hour or 2, so it's not that bad
what do you mean, "an dmy bff sid they were supposed to use those?" i don't understand
the procedure is:
you brush your teeth
they put on this thing so you don't get saliva everywhere,
they put this sour lemon tasting plaster/paste on your teeth, they apply brackets, then wires, then rubberbands around the brackets, then you're done
i have clear braces so you don't see them--i would choose those, but those are more expensive--get whatever color(s) you feel like!
good luck!

I got my braces taken off years ago. I remember them putting them on with some kinda glue substance. People told me it would hurt real bad. I didn't think it did. It got sore at times but not too bad. As far as colors, you change those every time you go in. I went in monthly. So do what you want! If you don't like it, change them next time. My personal favorite is pink. Good luck and don't worry!
