I've heard that they are excruciating. I'm totally freaked about getting one. I followed my dentist instructions and rinse with salt water after meals and smoking. How can I tell if I'm getting one? I had one lower molar extracted 1-31-07. What should my clot look like?

I have a raised line extending from my lips to molar on my right inner cheek. There is white "skin" I guess is what you would call it that covers it. The white stuff scrapes off but the raised line is still there, what is this and how is it fixable? I have good oral hygiene so I don't know what the problem is?

Im thinking of having some dodgy teeth removed and replaced with a bridge, does anyone know how painful this is?

I also understand that after they take the feeth out they give you a temp bridge, is this the sort that you'd take out at night and put in a glass?

if you've had it done or know anyone who has i'd be grateful for any information or advice.

thanks in advance.

I live on a very tight budget with no medical or dental insurance. My teeth arent the greatest. I know I need a dentist but I cant afford it right now. Anyway, One of my back teeth flairs up occassionally causing some discomfort. I take asparin for it and it goes away in a few days. the asparin helps alot to dull the pain. It seems to flair up the most when I am sick or am cold. does anyone else have a similar problem and what do you do about it

My son is 9 years old and he had one of his back teeth capped with a silver cap. He complained about it hurting him last night but I thought he would feel better today. He told me this morning it felt funny so I looked at it and the gum at the back of his mouth..this is the last tooth next to his gum is swollen. Is this normal?

I have had to get other crowns in the past, and have been happy with the work done. But what exactly is the reason for their exhorbitant cost? Is it the three hours of prep by the dentist or is it the cost of having the crown manufactured? Just curious really as I have never seen a cost breakdown on this before. Thank you for responding.

I broke my back tooth on a olive stone and had the tooth removed. I will need to have a replacement tooth fitted and want to know how long I need to wait before I start this procedure. I'm 50 years old (if that makes any difference!)

I want to know about any short dental courses that I can cover in a couple of weeks. Endodontics, cosmetics, implants, any. Can anyone guide me as to where such courses are taught?

A friend of mine has gums that bleed a lot and a severe case of bad breath. It's so bad that it can be smelled from across a room. What is causing this?

My denist has prescribed a buid up and crown on a back moler that has deteriorated. The way the wrote it up, it is a Porcelein/Metal crown.

However, my insurance will only cover what they said was 'basic' remedy, which was a solely metal crown.

Other than appeareance, is there a benefit to the porcelein crown? This is a tooth in the back, second the the last. Nobody will ever see it unless they are digging in my mouth, so I am wondering if 'appearance' is really a factor here, considering the huge cost savings I might have my going with a metal-only crown.
