This is called the Linea Alba, a lighter colored, raised line running from your lips to the back of your cheeck. It's completely normal. You probably only just noticed it, and so are more concious of it. When I was a teenager, I reacted the same way when I first noticed it.

I have the same thing and it's from biting my cheek. It's scar tissue. So the first thing, if this makes sense, is try to stop biting your cheek (you could also be doing it while you sleep). And secondly, buy some vitamin E gelcaps. Break off the end (or poke a hole, depending what kind you get) and smear it all over the scar, then just swallow the gelcap as usual (it's good for you anyway). It really helps to heal the scar tissue. It will still be there a bit depending on how severe it is, but it really helps. =)

I would say visit your dentist. If money is an issue some dentist offer free evaluations. This way you an see what it is & what needs to be done. Is it plaque or tarter, you say you can scrape it off, sounds like that to me. You may just need a good teeth cleaning. You should have this done evry 6 months or atleast 1x a year. Even w/ brushing, flossing, mouthwash, you still need an annual dental cleaning.

Hawt is correct. This is called Linea Alba and is completely normal. It is more pronounced in some people than in others. It may be more pronounced if you clench your teeth as you will notice that the "line" fits into where your upper and lower arches meet on the biting surfaces of your teeth.

People who clench their teeth get this scar tissue on the inside of the cheek. Nothing to concern yourself with; but mention it next time you see your dentist.
