I understand that hydrogen peroxide is the active ingredient in all whitening products. Can you just rinse your mouth with hydorgen peroxide? Is it safe ?

i have like 2 spots on my front teeth... they have been there ever since my adult teeth came in, and i am now 16.
the very center is very dark yellowish, then a white circle shape around it. and my teeth are some what discolored, but i dont get why. i brush my teeth very well, twice a day, i floss, and use listorine most of the time [i forget every once in a while though]
this is making me feel really uncomfortable. i've always been shy beacuase of this. i never smile. im just so tired of dealing with this, but i have no idea how to fix it..... my dentist, never mentioned there was anything wrong with my teeth.... i didn say anything because i was realy shy--that was about a year ago.... and i havent gone since

my teeth arent like rotting or anything, they are just sorta yellow, with these spots

please help me, i feel horrible

My dughters brand new adult teeth are yellow. I would guess that there is a vitamin issue. But if it is, what would she be lacking? She is an abnormaly picky eater so I try to sneek multi-vitamins in as much as I can. I know its not a brushing issue since they are brand new teeth!

I know it's not good...but there are people I know that I am genuinely concerned about and I've heard that it can be bad for your health when you do not take care of your teeth. I know someone who doesn't ever get their teeth cleaned let alone even go to a dentist their whole life. The teeth are pretty gross and they have bad breath. I love them dearly, but do I say anything?

They used to be very poppular a few years back and you hear of them any more. I was wondering because my dentist says I am getting pockets in my gums and to make sure I clean will.

We are considering closing the practice to emergencies. In other words, if you are not a patient of record, you can not call with a toothache and expect to be seen "today."

It seems cold to consider this, but it is also inconsiderate to my regular patients who have waited some weeks for their appointment time to let someone upset the whole applecart because they didn't take proper care of themself.

Have any of you done this and what is your experience or advice?

I don't imagine I'll be choosing a "best" answer, as I am just looking for as many opinions as I can find, so this will probably just go to the vote of the masses. Maybe one will emerge as a winner though...

through work. After I turned 22 I was taken off the policy. I have had some problems with a root canal I had done, and I have a wisdom tooth coming in so I was going to ask him to look into getting me put back on (I'm 23 now). Is this possible? I was just wondering if anyone might know if this would be allowed. I know it will cost him more (I'll pay him the difference) but I'm not sure if it's even allowed. Thanks!!!

I have a 9 year old who does not want to brush her teeth. What is the best way to get her to brush? I have tried everything, from telling her that her breath stinks to telling her that her teeth will rot out. Still, no brushing. I am big on oral hygiene. I brush mine at least 3 times a day, if not more, and floss regularly. Any advice???

I had a wisdom tooth pulled yesterday and they told me to gargle salt water on the wound to promote healing. Do you think I really need to do it, since they always tell you to do that after a pulled tooth? Will it burn like a mofo?

My gum at the back part of my mouth (where the wisdom teeth are supposed to be) is extremely swollen. It started a a day after I had my cavities filled. It's swollen where the dentist gave me the needle. It really hurts...could these two be connected or am I just not cleaning my teeth well enough? I've never had such swollen gums before.

In the meantime, while I'm waiting for my appointment the day after tomorrow, is there anything I can do to alleviate the pain? Any ways of keeping the area clean? Already tried cold water, keeping ice in my mouth, Listerine (I know it's an irritant) and salt water.
